W hen growing up, we were told that in heaven are two books; one of Life and one of Death that incase of any wrong our names were rubbed off from the book of Life and written in the book of Death, because of this we kept in constant repentance “the wrong way” saying all the time “God forgive me for the sins I have committed knowingly and unknowingly”, this was because of the fear instilled in us that we could die at any time when our names were still written in the book of Death, therefore the only escape route was keeping the lips in motion seeking for a pardon from our Father God. I remember 5
of a time when my father got worried having noticed that I often kept talking to myself, and to him, he thought I could possibly be running mad, however the more we grew in Christ we came to realize that there was a better way to go about with life and this was through salvation in Him as our personal Lord and Savior, and for this confession, our names were for eternity written, sealed and stamped in the book of Life having been now a registered in Heaven as its Citizens. We came to realize the existence of a miserable situation in the world, that some people parted from our eyes for 6
good and never to be seen again, as some of them as the slogan says “from the soil one came and to it they return”, however this was not satisfactory to us as we kept on questioning those around us as to why this is so? Because in JOHN 16:21 Jesus says “A woman, when she gives birth to a child, has grief (anguish, agony) because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she no longer remembers her pain (trouble, anguish) because she is so glad that a man (a child, a human being) has been born into the world.” We asked of what aroused that joy which suddenly drove away the travailing of birth pangs, and 7
we came to realize that birth of a life is joyous, however this joy can only be celebrated when one also has the life in them to see and welcome the other life. This is the same expression Paul talks of in 1 CORINTHIANS 9:26-27 saying “Therefore I do not run uncertainly (without definite aim). I do not box like one beating the air and striking without an adversary. But [like a boxer] I buffet my body [handle it roughly, discipline it by hardships] and subdue it, for fear that after proclaiming to others the Gospel and things pertaining to it, I myself should become unfit [not stand the test, be unapproved and rejected as a 8
counterfeit].” This is the very reason Jesus told the seventy disciples in LUKE 10:20 “Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are enrolled in heaven.” Then the question is, “Is it possible to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others and the preacher him or herself be disqualified from the Kingdom?” The answer is yes. The Bible in MATTHEW 7:21-27 says “Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name 9
and driven out demons in Your name and done many mighty works in Your name? And then I will say to them openly (publicly), I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands]. So everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts upon them [obeying them] will be like a sensible (prudent, practical, wise) man who built his house upon the rock. And the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not do them will be like a stupid (foolish) man who built 10
his house upon the sand. And the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell--and great and complete was the fall of it.” When Apostle Paul speaks of him buffeting his body, he simply seeks to mean that his body should not direct him concerning things of God as it is weak and inferior to the things concerning the kingdom, but through the Word he may sharpen and position it to be responsive to the leading of the spirit man, as to him [Paul], he saw of the possibility of the frail body making one unfit for the kingdom. He gives an example of a boxer, athlete who keep on training and 11
exercising to maintain a fitness as they are in a race although they do this for a corruptible and perishable crown, however to us whose crown is not as theirs how ought we not be exercised in the very things we profess, not by acting like the very substance of the things [as a counterfeit], but as one beholding the very substance of what we speak of; for it is possible for an un praying man when given audience to play prayer, as to Paul even if he be the preacher of the Word, he still seeks the application in him of the very Word he preaches, for it is true that you cannot take one to a place you have never been, however we ought not to 12
lose the wonder of those places just because we have been in them. I believe that this is the very reason to as to why Jesus Christ [our Lord and Master] prayed although He was a Son of God. We have seen people waste time with an already judged fellow [the devil] who is just awaiting the end of time for its punishment in hell, to the extent that they have forgotten about salvation-their new life in God, and because of this many of them have had little time for God as most of their time is spent with the devil for example knowing and studying how the devil manifests itself, and the question is, “ever since they 13
started addressing and studying the ways of the devil, how much has that knowledge helped them?” As we know what this knowledge can do, for the man of ECCLESIASTES 1:18 says “For in much [human] wisdom is much vexation, and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.” This is what human knowledge can do, it increases sorrow in one, as to many of these people can even boldly declare that Satan is stronger than God, what a deception! MATTHEW 12:34 says “You offspring of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil (wicked)? For out of the fullness (the overflow, the superabundance) of the 14
heart the mouth speaks.” This means that even the audience of these people with doctrines of devils, at the end of the day their speech, or preaching will also be concerning the devil; these are the very people who are always conscious about curses [ebikolimo], and the question is that, are they still on the foundation which Paul laid, or they are in another foundation which they have laid for themselves--Apostle Paul tells everyone to take heed how they build upon that Foundation which is Christ the Chief Corner Stone of the Church. [1 CORINTHIANS 3:10, MARK 12:10, EPHESIANS 2:20]. In the Book of 15
HEBREWS 13:8-9 the Bible says “Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same, yesterday, today, [yes] and forever (to the ages). Do not be carried about by different and varied and alien teachings; for it is good for the heart to be established and ennobled and strengthened by means of grace (God`s favor and spiritual blessing) and not [to be devoted to] foods [rules of diet and ritualistic meals], which bring no [spiritual] benefit or profit to those who observe them.” We see emphasis put on one`s heart being established in grace, as it is impossible to understand God and His Word without embracing His grace. In 16
GALATIANS 1:6-9 Apostle Paul speaks saying “I am surprised and astonished that you are so quickly turning renegade and deserting Him Who invited and called you by the grace (unmerited favor) of Christ (the Messiah) [and that you are transferring your allegiance] to a different [even an opposition] gospel. Not that there is [or could be] any other [genuine Gospel], but there are [obviously] some who are troubling and disturbing and bewildering you [with a different kind of teaching which they offer as a gospel] and want to pervert and distort the Gospel of Christ (the Messiah) [into something which it 17
absolutely is not]. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to and different from that which we preached to you, let him be accursed (anathema, devoted to destruction, doomed to external punishment)! As we said before, so I now say again: if anyone is preaching to you a gospel different from or contrary to that which you received [from us], let him be accursed (anathema, devoted to destruction, doomed to eternal punishment)!” Here Apostle Paul speaks of certain men who alter the Gospel of Christ so as to dissuade believers from Jesus Christ, not because they have 18
somewhere else to take them but because it is there deliberate move to tend to the destruction of even the believers by offering them another gospel which is not actually the Gospel of Jesus Christ, so Paul speaks of the necessity of one`s heart being established in grace [Christ] and not any other doctrine [teaching], and to them that preach other doctrines not of grace to be accursed. Therefore let us define and understand what it means by ones heart being established in grace. Established in Hebrew means, khaw-zak 19
A primitive root; to fasten upon; hence to seize, be strong (figuratively courageous, causatively strengthen, cure, help, repair, fortify), obstinate; to bind, restrain, conquer: - aid, amend, X calker, catch, cleave, confirm, be constant, constrain, continue, be of good (take) courage (-ous, -ly), encourage (self), be fasten, force, fortify, make hard, harden, help, (lay) hold (fast), lean, maintain, mend, become (wax) mighty, prevail, be recovered, repair, retain, strengthen (self), be stout, be (make, shew, wax) strong (-er), be sure, take (hold), be urgent, behave self valiantly, withstand. 20
Grace is a person of Jesus Christ. In JOHN 1:17 the Bible says “For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.” That means that there is no way you can define grace without defining the person of Jesus Christ. We see that firstly the men of the Old Testament had to abide by the Law [Ten Commandments] so as to be at peace with God [DEUTERONOMY 28:1], however none could keep up to the standards of the Law [ROMANS 3:23], as one who defaulted in one commandment meant that they had broken all the Ten Commandments. Therefore it meant that all of them were 21
walking in [perpetual] sin, and unreconciled [not at peace] with God. In addition to that, since Moses was given the Law, it was name tagged to him as “The Law of Moses”; this means that he could choose to increase or add more to it [the Law], this means that the men of Old were loaded with a load they could not carry by themselves. This is why in the Old Testament, its people longed and waited for the Promised Messiah Jesus Christ to come, however on His coming, the Religious Leaders of His time believed that they could keep up to the Law, meaning that there was no need Jesus Christ to them. At this point Jesus 22
shocked them by telling them that if a man looks at a woman lustfully [with an evil eye], he commits adultery with her in his heart [MATTHEW 5:28], this means that even that woman was also in one way or another guilty of adultery, and also that if one hates his brother, he has committed murder in his or her heart hence a murderer [1 JOHN 3:15], and that if one had divorced his wife except for adultery, when he or she marries when that partner is still alive, they commit adultery [MATTHEW 5:32], this meant that even if these Religious men thought they could keep the whole Law, it was evident that they could not. It 23
should be not that even up to now, Love has to be the center of life of a New Testament believer, therefore there is no need for one to be reminded to walk in Agape [the God kind of Love], we see that one walking in Agape cannot seek divorce, as it is also a life of a New Creature to walk in forgiveness. However to these Religious leaders, they clung to the Law of which to us we know that Law has no feelings, for it`s slogan is that it must not be broken, this is why Moses gave a punishment of “an eye for an eye”, “a tooth for a tooth”. This is the very reason to as to why the woman caught in adultery [JOHN 8:3-4] was to 24
be stoned to death without regard to various circumstances for instance, was there evidence to prove so, who did she commit adultery with, what if it was forcefully done against her will, who was her husband in the first place. The Law could not even give chance for her to defend herself, it could not even imagine that this very woman could at one time mother children who could come to worship and commit their service to God, it could not even put into consideration that the people who would enforce its dictates would be committing murder with their hands yet already guilty of sin and unpunished hence could remain in 25
the hypocrisy that they are holy yet dying and leading a life tending to death. I remember one time in my village of a certain man who always beat up and left men who were alleged to have involved in theft unconscious, however one day when a police dog was brought following a certain theft, it directly pulled him out of his house with the evidence of the exhibits, just imagine what happened next? This was and is the very essence of Christ Jesus. When we talk about the grace of God, it means the free gift of righteousness through faith in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ when He offered Himself as a 26
Lamb without blemish once and for all to all who believe in Him [ROMANS 5:16-17, 1 PETER 1:19, ]. This is because He fulfilled the Law for us who could not fulfill it, so he delivered and purchased us from it and reconciled us to God by His own blood, however it should be noted that the distinction between the Law and Grace is that the Law is of works whereas the Grace is of Faith, that means that there is no connection between the Law and Faith, as the Law does not and cannot have its roots in Jesus Christ, yet for Faith it is wholly dependent on Jesus Christ. ROMANS 3:20-28 says “For no person will be justified (made righteous, 27
acquitted, and judged acceptable) in His sight by observing the works prescribed by the Law. For [the real function of] the Law is to make men recognize and be conscious of sin [not mere perception, but an acquaintance with sin which works toward repentance, faith, and holy character]. But now the righteousness of God has been revealed independently and altogether apart from the Law, although actually it is attested by the Law and the Prophets, Namely, the righteousness of God which comes by believing with personal trust and confident reliance on Jesus Christ (the Messiah). [And it is meant] for all who 28
believe. For there is on distinction, Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory which God bestows and receives. [All] are justified and made upright and in right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace (His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is [provided] in Christ Jesus, Whom God put forward [before the eyes of all] as a mercy seat and propitiation by His blood [the cleansing and life-giving sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation, to be received] through faith. This was to show God`s righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over and 29
ignored former sins without punishment. It was to demonstrate and prove at the present time (in the now season) that He Himself is righteous and that He justifies and accepts as righteous him who has [true] faith in Jesus. Then what becomes of [our] pride and [our] boasting? It is excluded (banished, ruled out entirely). On what principle? [On the principle] of doing good deeds? No, but on the principle of faith. For we hold that a man is justified and made upright by faith independent of and distinctly apart from good deeds (works of the Law). [The observance of the Law has nothing to do with justification.]” GALATIANS 2:16 says 30
“Yet we know that a man is justified or reckoned righteous and in right standing with God not by works of the Law, but [only] through faith and [absolutely] reliance on and adherence to and trust in Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). [Therefore] even we [ourselves] have believed on Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the Law [for we cannot be justified by any observance of the ritual of the Law given by Moses], because by keeping legal rituals and by works no human being can ever be justified (declared righteous and put in right standing with God).” It is clearly evident 31
that the Law has nothing to do with making one justified and righteous therefore by the Bible saying that one`s heart ought to be established in grace, it means that one has to believe in Jesus Christ by faith in His sacrifice when He offered Himself as Lamb offering for the propitiation of our sins, then one`s life should be of faith and nothing else, believing in the message of the cross which is entirely of love and mercy by God not counting sin on us anymore but righteousness--for this is what enforces right living, as the Spirit of God is at work in us, transforming us daily for the best through His Word which renews our 32
minds to the life we now live in Christ. This is what a heart should be established in. Before talking about resurrection, let us understand certain things namely; Heavens, Kingdom of God, and Rapture. HEAVENS. Here let us use the Message Version Bible to understand this subject. In GENESIS 1:1-10 the Bible says, “First this: God created the Heavens and Earth-all you see, all you don`t see. Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness. God`s Spirit brooded like a bird above the 33
watery abyss. God spoke: “Light!” And light appeared. God saw that light was good and separated light from dark. God named the light Day, He named the dark Night. It was evening, it was morning-Day One. God spoke: “Sky! In the middle of the waters; separate water from water!” God made sky. He separated the water under sky from the water above sky. And there it was: He named sky the Heavens; It was evening, it was morning-Day Two. God spoke: “Separate! Waterbeneath-Heaven, gather into one place; Land, appear!” And there it was. God named the land Earth. He named the 34
pooled water Ocean. God saw that it was good.” From the above Scripture, we see that God created everything on its own apportioned day, we also see that firstly each created thing stood independent of another until when reconciled, for example He had to separate Light [day] from the dark [night], the greater Light [sun] to shine by day, and the lesser light [moon] to shine by night, and the stars were to shine throughout day and night. We also see that when God created the Heavens and Earth in verse 1, the Heavens had no need for much attention in terms of giving it Lights, however in 35
verse 2, we see that the Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, and an inky blackness. This is the reason God created a firmament according to other Bible versions, which is also called the Sky according to the Message Version as quoted above. We see in Verse 8, God name this Sky Heaven, of which this is distinct to the one created in verse 1, because this one had to do with giving the Earth form, as we see that in verse 2 that the Earth was bottomless, this very Sky [Firmament, Heaven] was the very one to hold the Lights [sun, moon and stars] spoken of in verse 14-16, as the Bible in verse 17 says 36
“God placed them in the heavenly sky to light up Earth.” We also from verse 6-10 the Bible say “God spoke: “Sky! In the middle of the waters; separate water from water!” God made sky. He separated the water under sky from the water above sky. And there it was: He named sky the Heavens; It was evening, it was morning--Day Two. God spoke: “Separate! Water-beneath-Heaven, gather into one place; Land, appear!” And there it was. God named the Land Earth. He named the pooled water Ocean. God saw that it was good.” We see that God created this sky in the midst of water, that means that there was 37
water on its top and bottom, bearing in mind that the Earth was a bottomless pit, therefore God spoke Land into existence having gathered water beneath Heaven into one place, He therefore called that Land Earth, and the water Ocean--so it is up to now. It should be noted that all this was being done to give form to the Earth created in verse 1, of which up to now the Sky and the Land still exist. After this we see that green seed-bearing plants, and fruit-bearing tree were also created to further give beauty to the Earth, man was also created and formed to tend everything created by God in Verse 2628. Speaking of this Heaven [Sky, 38
Firmament], in GENESIS 7:11-12 the Bible says “It was the six-hundredth year of Noah`s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month that it happened: all the underground springs erupted and all the windows of Heaven were thrown open. Rain poured for forty days and forty nights.” In GENESIS 8:2 the Bible says “The underground springs were shut off, the windows of Heaven closed and the rain quit.” We see that in the days of Noah, the ground springs erupted; meaning that water was coming from underground onto the Earth, and also the windows of Heaven [Sky] were thrown open; meaning that the water on 39
top of the Heaven was just pouring onto the Earth--this is the reason why the Earth in forty days was covered by the flood, and also took one hundred fifty days when the floodwaters was covering the Earth. In 2 PETER 3:10 the Bible says “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will vanish (pass away) with a thunderous crash, and the [material] elements [of the universe] will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and the works that are upon it will be burned up.” We see that the heavens spoken here is the Sky we always see, and it is true that the heavens and the earth will all vanish with the works of 40
man in it, this gives us a reason to store up our treasure in Heaven which shall not be destroyed nor stolen, neither can a moth eat it up, we ought although in this passing Earth think about the end of our souls, of which the safety and surety is in believing in Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, and also embracing His grace upon our lives. We see that at the appearing of Christ the Heavens [sky] and the Earth shall all vanish. In the Book of REVELATION 21:1 we see John the Revelator say “THEN I saw a new sky (heaven) and a new earth, for the former sky and the former earth had passed away (vanished), and there 41
no longer existed any sea.” In the Book of 1 THESSALONIANS 4:16-17 the Bible says “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud cry of summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the blast of the trumpet of God. And those who have departed this life in Christ will rise first. Then we, the living ones who remain [on the earth], shall simultaneously be caught up along with [the resurrected dead] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so always (through the eternity of the eternities) we shall be with the Lord!” This is so powerful, the Bible speaks of us [who have believed in 42
Him] whether dead or alive by the time of His coming, shall be caught up in the clouds to meet Him in the air. It should be noted that it shall be in the New not the Old Sky and Earth which shall and are passing away. Speaking of the Heaven in GENESIS 1:1, The Bible in Acts 7:49 says “Heaven [is] My throne, and earth the footstool for My feet. What [kind of] house can you build for Me, says the Lord, or what is the place in which I can rest?” We see that this Heaven is the throne of God. In the Book of MATTHEW 3:16-17 the Bible says “And when Jesus was baptized, He went up at once out of the water; and 43
behold, the heavens were opened, and he [John] saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on Him. And behold, a voice from heaven said, This is My Son, My Beloved, in Whom I delight!” from this portion of Scripture, during the baptism of our Lord Jesus Christ, John the man of the Spirit saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on Him [Jesus Christ], we see that this was as a result of the open heaven. As we know that if it was the heaven [sky] spoken of here, firstly, the people around would marvel at it, and secondly, water would pour from it. In the Book of ACTS 7:55-56 the Bible 44
speaks of Stephen saying “But he, full of the Holy Spirit and controlled by Him, gazed into heaven and saw the glory (the splendor and majesty) of God, and Jesus standing at God`s right hand; And he said, Look! I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing at God`s right hand!” Here we see that Stephen was filled and controlled by the Holy Spirit that he saw opened heaven, from which he saw the Father and the Son [Jesus Christ], we also note that although he said look, the people [accusers] who surrounded him could not behold the same, as this was Spiritual and not physical as the sky [heaven]. We also see 45
that Peter in ACTS 10:11 was able to behold open heaven in a vision of the Spirit of God. In the Book of REVELATION 19:11-13 John says “After that I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse [appeared]! The One Who was riding it is called Faithful (Trustworthy, Loyal, Incorruptible, Steady) and True, and He passes judgment and wages war in righteousness (holiness, justice, and uprightness). His eyes [blaze] like a flame of fire, and on His head are many kingly crowns (diadems); and He has a title (name) inscribed which He alone knows or can understand. He is dressed in a robe dyed by dipping in blood, and the 46
title by which He is called is The Word of God.” We see that when John the Revelator beheld open Heaven, with the Son of God as this was all inspired by the Spirit of God and not with his carnal senses. KINGDOM OF GOD. The word kingdom comes from two words namely; “king” and “dom”. Of which “dom” means Jurisdiction, property and jurisdiction, dominion. The Hebrew word to mean Kingdom is; mal-kooth', mal-kooth', mal-koo-yaw' meaning; a rule; concretely a dominion: - empire, realm, reign, royal. 47
As we have seen above, kingdom means; Rule, Dominion, Empire, Realm, Reign or Royal. Talking about the King, we see that Jesus Christ is the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS as revealed to us in REVELATION 19:16. This means that there is no glory here on earth that can be equated to His glory, not even of the Kings and Queens we see here on earth, not even that of England. In the Old Testament we are told of a one King called Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon whose dominion was felt across the earth and whose authority superseded all the ones of other kings on earth combined [DANIEL 4:20-22]. This compelled him to 48
exalt himself, however we see that by experience he came to believe that there is only One God Who rules in the heaven and earth; this is the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Israel. [DANIEL 3:29, 4:37] and this was good to his soul which I believe was saved. In Scripture we see two related words spoken of and these are Kingdom of God and Kingdom of Heaven. The Kingdom of God was spoken of or prophesied right from the Old Testament; of which we know that prophecies are for preparation by those to whom it is concerned. In the Book of ISAIAH 40:3-5 Prophet Isaiah spoke saying “A voice of one cries: Prepare in 49
the wilderness the way of the Lord [clear away the obstacles]; make straight and smooth in the desert a highway for our God! Every valley shall be lifted and filled up, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the crooked and uneven shall be made straight and level, and the rough places a plain. And the glory (majesty and splendor) of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it.” Here we see that Isaiah the prophet of God prophesied of a voice, and also the words which that voice will be speaking at that particular time to come. However we note that this voice speaks of our Lord and Savior Jesus 50
Christ Whose way was to be prepared in the wilderness and deserts of which we know that these are places of testation’s, troubles and much hardships; this also shows us that Christ indeed came to make the blind see, as He particularly did not come for the [self] righteous but for the sinners to make them see the Salvation of God, as a Hope to the hopeless and a Father to the fatherless. In the Book of MATTHEW 3:1-3 the Bible says “IN THOSE days there appeared John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness (Desert) of Judea And saying, Repent (think differently; change your mind, regretting your sins and changing your conduct), for the kingdom of 51
heaven is at hand. This is he who was mentioned by the prophet Isaiah when he said, The voice of one crying in the wilderness (shouting in the desert), Prepare the road for the Lord, make His highways straight (level, direct).” We therefore see that John the Baptist was the voice prophesied of by prophet Isaiah, and therefore let us look unto the message of John the Baptist. In JOHN 1:6-16 the Bible says “There came a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came to witness, that he might testify of the Light, that all men might believe in it [adhere to it, trust it, and rely upon it] through him. He was not the Light himself, but came that he might 52
bear witness regarding the Light. There it was--the true Light [was then] coming into the world [the genuine, perfect, steadfast Light] that illumines every person. He came into the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him [did not know Him]. He came to that which belonged to Him [to His own--His domain, creation, things, world], and they who were His own did not receive Him and did not welcome Him. But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name--Who 53
owe their birth neither to bloods nor to the will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a natural father], but to God. [They are born of God!] And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacle (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth. John testified about Him and cried out, This was He of Whom I said, He Who comes after me has priority over me, for He was before me. [He takes rank above me, for He existed before I did. He has advanced 54
before me, because He is my Chief.] For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received [all had a share and we were all supplied with] one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even favor upon favor and gift [heaped] upon gift.” Here we see that John the Baptist`s ministry was to prepare men for the coming Messiah and to testify or openly declare to them Who the Messiah spoken of by him Is. We see that this John faithfully did, as we see that he sought not his own glory but that of the Father by him faithfully serving his purpose. We see that on the coming of Jesus Christ, for the whole of His life He involved in teaching people about the 55
Kingdom of God. In JOHN 6:51 the Bible says “I [Myself] am this Living Bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this Bread, he will live forever; and also the Bread that I shall give for the life of the world is My flesh (body).” Here we see that Jesus Christ when still walking on the face of this earth called Himself the Living Bread that means that He was a consumable which whoever eats of it lives forever, and also speaks of His Body being one that will be laid down for the life of this world [to Whom the people in the world were to believe in His sacrifice]. In JOHN 6:63 He said “It is the Spirit Who gives life [He is the Life-giver]; the flesh conveys no benefit whatever 56
[there is no profit in it]. The words (truths) that I have been speaking to you are spirit and life.” Christ introduces us to the look at Him beyond the perspective of the flesh [physical] which indeed He laid down for our salvation, to the Spirit [His Word that proceeds from Him]. We see that Christ indeed speaks of the Words in and from the Father in Him being Spirit and Life, and that whoever has an intimacy and accepts these Words to work in Him or her has eternal Life in them. In 1 TIMOTHY 3:16 “And great and important and weighty, we confess, is the hidden truth (the mystic secret) of godliness. He [God] was made visible in human flesh, justified and 57
vindicated in the [Holy] Spirit, was seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, [and] taken up in glory.” We see that Jesus Christ was more of the Word, and that is why most of His time was devoted in teaching about God; this is why in JOHN 17:8 He said “For the [uttered] words that You gave Me I have given them; and they have received and accepted [them] and have come to know positively and in reality [to believe with absolute assurance] that I came forth from Your presence, and they have believed and are convinced that You did send Me.” We have seen in these times where some people have devoted much of their 58
time in making certain physical representations to suit the representation of the Spiritual, of which we know that nothing physical can be able to represent anything spiritual about God, that is why the Bible warns us of these last times when people will be and are speaking of physical representations of Jesus Christ. In the Book of MARK 13:21-23 Jesus warns everyone who believes in Him saying “And then if anyone says to you, See, here is the Christ (the Messiah)! or, Look, there He is! do not believe it. False Christs (Messiahs) and false prophets will arise and show signs and [work] miracles to deceive and lead astray, if possible, 59
even the elect (those God has chosen out for Himself). But look to yourselves and be on your guard; I have told you everything beforehand.” We have seen Christ clearly endeavor to declare to us what and how crazy the world is; that men are ready to believe physical things as manifestations of the Spiritual things, for example take a look at how people have poured all their hearts and emotions [even finances] to believing in images created by men without even the Spirit of God resident and working in them, they have gone further to create for themselves idols and are well convinced that they depict God, what a deception unto blind men who are led by 60
the blind! With humility and a pure heart, a rosary has no connection with God, the so called Mary sculptures have nothing to do with Jesus Christ as we see Christ Himself tell us to believe in the Words He speaks of the Father, we have seen a great deception carry about it a great number of people with all their wealth, lives, and everything devoted to another Jesus afore warned by Paul who said that if anyone preaches any other gospel except that which we delivered to you, let such a one be accursed. We therefore see that the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ is the Kingdom of God. This is the very reason why Jesus Christ when requested by His disciples who wanted to 61
be taught how to pray said to them in MATTHEW 6:9-11 said “Pray, therefore, like this: Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed (kept holy) be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.” When analyzing the above statements we see that indeed Jesus Christ on earth was the physical manifestation of God on Earth, however as the realm of God in most cases when He performed all manner of miracles commanded and instructed the people around to tell no one until the will of God was done on Earth [MATTHEW 17:19, LUKE 9:21, MARK 5:43, 7:36] of which the will He spoke about was concerning 62
His death and resurrection; this is why when He had risen, the Bible says in MATTHEW 28:9-10 “And as they went, behold, Jesus met them and said, Hail (greetings)! And they went up to Him and clasped His feet and worshiped Him. Then Jesus said to them, Do not be alarmed and afraid; go and tell My brethren to go into Galilee, and there they will see Me.” We see that Jesus Christ having risen commanded them which He met to go forth and tell the brethren [they who believed in Him] that He was risen and that He was to meet them in Galilee. Here the will of God was now done, as Jesus had died for the sins of the world, hence accomplishing the 63
will of the Father, we therefore see that indeed the Kingdom and the will of God were now done on earth as it was in heaven, we see that in the prayer taught the disciples in MATTHEW 6:11 the Bible says after the fulfillment of the first and second promises [Your Kingdom come, and will be done on earth as it is in heaven], verse 11 says “Give us this day our daily bread.” We see that here the bread requested for was no longer the Law, but Grace, because of the establishment of another covenant [New Testament]—where He said that He will no longer remember our sins or even count iniquity upon us [who believe] but on Jesus Christ. AND the consequence of 64
the fulfillment of these promises are revealed to us in verse 12-13 which are; 1. Our sins are forgiven, 2. We are above temptation [we are overcomer`s as the greater one lives in us, for it is no longer us who live but Christ lives and the life we now live in the flesh we live unto God who loved us and gave Himself for us], and 3. We have been delivered from the hand of the devil, and we are now bestowed unto the Kingdom of the Son of God. This is the Kingdom of God which is already come as we boldly declare the Word of God to all flesh through the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is able to turn all flesh which is as grass into Spirit which is eternal. Choose to believe 65
God through Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. When we are speaking of the Kingdom of Heaven, we simply mean the Realm of Heaven. We see Jesus tell Pilate in JOHN 18:36 “Jesus answered, My kingdom (kingship, royal power) belongs not to this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My followers would have been fighting to keep Me from being handed over to the Jews. But as it is, My kingdom is not from here (this world); [it has no such origin or source].” We see that the Kingdoms of this earth is not like that of God, for to this world, its kingdoms have an end but that of God has no end for it is eternal. In Law, one cannot be tried in 66
a court that has no jurisdiction to try a matter, this also we saw that during Jesus Christ`s trial, since He was from a heavenly jurisdiction [which also belongs to Him], both Pilate and Herod kept moving Jesus up and down as the matter of this trial was beyond their earthly court systems jurisdiction, however Pilate just did try the matter with his exclusion as he charged the blood of Jesus on the hands of them who demanded His execution yet he found Him innocent. In EPHESIANS 2:19 the Bible speaks of you who has believed in Jesus Christ saying “Therefore you are no longer outsiders (exiles, migrants, and aliens, excluded from the rights of 67
citizens), but you now share citizenship with the saints (God`s own people, consecrated and set apart for Himself); and you belong to God`s [own] household.” We therefore see that just as Christ is not of this earth, so are we also who believe in Him, for our citizenship is now in heaven, and because of this the Bible says that we are of the household of God [Faith] and joint heirs with Christ. What then? In EPHESIANS 3:5-6 the Bible says “[This mystery] was never disclosed to human beings in past generations as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles (concentrated messengers) and prophets by the [Holy] Spirit. [It is this:] that the 68
Gentiles are now to be fellow heirs [with the Jews], members of the same body and joint partakers [sharing] in the same divine promise in Christ through [their acceptance of] the glad tidings (the Gospel)” This means that not only has Christ reconciled us to God, but also reconciled all the people who believe in Him as people of one household [brothers and sisters], this is the reason to as to why Love [Agape] is the greatest commandment, we also see that because He is Love, therefore the balance between Faith, Hope and Love is Love [Agape]1. In 1 JOHN 3:14-19 the Bible says “We know that we have passed over 1 I RECOMMEND YOU TO READ A BOOK ENTITLED “LOVE THE WAY TO VICTORY BY KENNETH E. HAGIN.” 69
out of death into Life by the fact that we love the brethren (our fellow Christians). He who does not love abides (remains, is held and kept continually) in [spiritual] death. Anyone who hates (abominates, detests) his brother [in Christ] is [at heart] a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding (persevering) within him. By this we come to know (progressively to recognize, to perceive, to understand) the [essential] love: that He laid down His [own] life for us; and we ought to lay [our] lives down for [those who are our] brothers [in Him]. But if anyone has this world`s goods (resources for sustaining life) and sees his brother and fellow 70
believer in need, yet closes his heart of compassion against him, how can the love of God live and remain in him? Little children, let us not love [merely] in theory or in speech but in deed and in truth (in practice and in sincerity). By this we shall come to know (perceive, recognize, and understand) that we are of the Truth, and can reassure (quiet, conciliate, and pacify) our hearts in His presence.” We therefore see that Jesus treasures the love of the brethren with the God kind of Love before one seeks to think they Love Him, and we see this kind of Love [Agape] defined in 1 CORITHIANS 13:4-8 which says “Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is 71
envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God`s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all 72
circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end].” In life nothing can define you other than Love [Agape], not even faith or hope can do define you, but Agape. You are an original of Jesus Christ and not a counterfeit. RAPTURE. In Scripture, the Rapture is clearly spoken of in 1 THESSALONIANS 4:16-17 which says “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud cry of summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the blast of the trumpet of God. And those who have departed this life in Christ will arise first. 73
Then we, the living ones who remain [on the earth], shall simultaneously be caught up along with [the resurrected dead] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so always (through the eternity of the eternities) we shall be with the Lord!” We see here the Bible speak of the dead in Christ firstly resurrecting, in the Message version, the Bible says that they will go first; this means that when they resurrect, they will have no business to do with tarrying on this earth, but will directly go to meet the Master in the clouds, and then those who are still alive will be caught up with them into the clouds to meet the Master Jesus Christ. What a joy and glory!!! 74
In simple words “Rapture” means Ravishing, Ecstatic or Transporting. That means that process of movement between the Earth and the Clouds. However let`s get more understanding on this subject. In 2 THESSALONIANS 2:314 the Bible says “Let no one deceive or beguile you in any way, for that day will not come except the apostasy comes first [unless the predicted great falling away of those who have professed to be Christians has come], and the man of lawlessness (sin) is revealed, who is the son of doom (of perdition), who opposes and exalts himself so proudly and insolently against and over all that is called God or that is worshiped, [even to 75
his actually] taking his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming that he himself is God. Do you not recollect that when I was still with you, I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining him [from being revealed at this time]; it is so that he may be manifested (revealed) in his own [appointed] time. For the mystery of lawlessness (that hidden principle of rebellion against constituted authority) is already at work in the world, [but it is] restrained only until he who restrains is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one (the antichrist) will be revealed and the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of His mouth and bring 76
him to an end by His appearing at His coming. The coming [of the lawless one, the antichrist] is through the activity and working of Satan and will be attended by great power and with all sorts of [pretended] miracles and signs and delusive marvels--[all of them] lying wonders--And by unlimited seduction to evil and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing (going to perdition) because they did not welcome the Truth but refused to love it that they might be saved. Therefore God sends upon them a misleading influence, a working of error and a strong delusion to make them believe what is false, In order that all may be judged and condemned 77
who did not believe in [who refused to adhere to, trust in, and rely on] the Truth, but [instead] took pleasure in unrighteousness. But we, brethren beloved by the Lord, ought and are obliged [as those who are in debt] to give thanks always to God for you, because God chose you from the beginning as His firstfruits (first converts) for salvation through the sanctifying work of the [Holy] Spirit and [your] belief in (adherence to, trust in, and reliance on) the Truth. [It was] to this end that He called you through our Gospel, so that you may obtain and share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).” This same Scripture is interesting in the 78
Message version, however we see that three things are spoken; 1. Apostasy, 2. Debut of the Anarchist, 3. A real dog of Satan. Apostasy can also mean falling away; this means “an abandonment of what one has voluntarily professed; a total desertion or departure from one`s faith or renunciation of a religious faith, or backsliding.” Debut of the Anarchist means “first public appearance of the Antichrist (the causer of confusion, the Lawless one-this is political as it pertains a government.)” A real dog of Satan is Satan himself 79
revealed. Concerning the above mentioned subjects, in the Message version, the Bible clearly tells us in 2 THESSALONIANS 2:9-12 that “The Anarchist`s coming is all Satan`s work. All his power and signs and miracles are fake, evil sleight of hand that plays to the gallery of those who hate the truth that could save them. And since they`re so obsessed with evil, God rubs their noses in it--gives them what they want. Since they refuse to trust truth, they`re banished to their chosen world of lies and illusions.” We see that though Satan is held back from being revealed, this does not mean that the antichrist is not at work in the world, 80
however we see that because men have hated the Truth of Jesus Christ [except you and I], because of this the Bible says God gave them what they wanted, as verse 11 says “And since they`re so obsessed with evil, God rubs their noses in it--gives them what they want.” We have seen God do this at one time when the Israelites demanded for a king to be like the rest of the nations; this God did by anointing Saul as King through the Priest Samuel, so it is even this time. However we see that in the Book of Revelations this very portion of Scripture is talked about in REVELATION 19:19-21 “Then I saw the beast and the rulers and leaders of the earth with their troops 81
mustered to go into battle and make war against Him Who is mounted on the horse and against His troops. And the beast was seized and overpowered, and with him the false prophet who in his presence had worked wonders and performed miracles by which he led astray those who had accepted or permitted to be placed upon them the stamp (mark) of the beast and those who paid homage and gave divine honors to his statue. Both of them were hurled alive into the fiery lake that burns and blazes with brimstone. And the rest were killed with the sword that issues from the mouth of Him Who is mounted on the horse, and all the birds fed ravenously 82
and glutted themselves with their flesh.” We see that the antichrist`s source of power is from Satan whose reign on earth having been released by God shall be for a short time as Christ will by the Sword of the Word that departs from His mouth blow [destroy and end] the devil and all his work. The instructions of the Word of God to you and I is that we should take a firm stand, with our feet on the ground and head high, keeping a tight grip on what you were taught; this is holding onto the Truth of the Word of Jesus Christ. The Bible in HEBREWS 13:56 God says that He will never leave us nor forsake us, we can boldly say “The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized 83
with alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me?” We see that the false prophet and antichrist are all men, however with the power from Satan, the Bible says that they will perform great signs and wonders and deceive many, as we all know that to people who have rejected Christ [the Truth], they indeed fall for this deception with a lot of ease, Jesus spoke of this very prophesy that there will come many people calling themselves the Christ, and even doing all manner of wonders even to what He did in the Scriptures however, it is Truth that stands the test of time. We see that these afore said false prophet and antichrist will even 84
defile the temple of the Most High God, oppose and exalt himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. Jesus tells us that do not look there when they tell you that Jesus is over there. I wonder the men who will wilfully give their ears and eyes and attention to seduction, Do not believe it, for in believing it, you give up on your faith. In 1 PETER 2:6-9 the Bible says “For thus it stands in Scripture: Behold, I am laying in Zion a chosen (honored), precious chief Cornerstone, and he who believes in Him [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] shall never be 85
disappointed or put to shame. To you then who believe (who adhere to, trust in, and rely on Him) is preciousness; but for those who disbelieve [it is true], The [very] Stone which the builders rejected has become the main Cornerstone, And, A Stone that will cause stumbling and a Rock that will give [men] offense; they stumble because they disobey and disbelieve [God`s] Word, as those [who reject Him] were destined (appointed) to do. But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God`s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into 86
His marvelous light.” We see that believing in Jesus Christ is for your good, and for the good of your soul, believe His Word is True. RESURRECTION. In the year two thousand when I was born, there happened something fundamental in that in this year there was a great fear sparked off in very many parts of the world that Jesus Christ was to return. It should be noted that the Antichrist also cease such opportunities beguile them who are founded in simplicity of this passing age. As far as I know is that from this year to to-date this period has been characterized by a great awakening in the Spirit. We see 87
that in the periods of the year two thousand going back, the glory of the men in these times cannot be compared to the one of these times spiritually and not carnally, for example we saw the men of God hold meetings of two thousand to at most five thousand in a tent camp and this was a great number of men. We also realize that many people in those times did not get an opportunity to hear what many hear and have at their disposal today; which is available everywhere and this is the Word of God. This Jesus one time said in MATTHEW 10:14-15 that to a city [meaning a person] who rejects His Word, it will be more tolerable for the 88
city of Sodom and Gomorrah than for such a one, because this city did not have that opportunity to listen to this Word, probably they would be saved just like that of Nineveh. The Bible in MATTHEW 12:41 says “The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, Someone more and greater than Jonah is here!” We see that this is one of the most fortunate generations, as we see that the Bible speaks of a time when the sons of men will be taught by God Himself, and this is the time. In JOHN 6:45 the Bible “It is written in [the book of] the Prophets, And they shall all be 89
taught of God [have Him in person for their Teacher]. Everyone who has listened to and learned from the Father comes to Me.” When Jesus walked the face of this earth, the Bible in COLOSSIANS 2:9-10 “For in Him the whole fullness of Deity (the Godhead) continues to dwell in bodily form [giving complete expression of the divine nature]. And you are in Him, made full and having come to fullness of life [in Christ you too are filled with the Godhead--Father, Son and Holy Spirit-and reach full spiritual stature]. And He is the Head of all rule and authority [of every angelic principality and power].” We see that in Jesus dwelt the fullness of 90
the Godhead and we also are in Him, for the Bible in COLOSIANS 3:3 says “For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God.” Glory to God that when you see me, you see Christ. The Bible in 1 CORINTHIANS 12:27 says “Now you [collectively] are Christ`s body and [individually] you are members of it, each part severally and distinct [each with his own place and function]”, this means that you have no excuse for not serving God, for example if it is giving to a ministry to further the work of ministering the gospel to the remotest places, do it. We realize that one of the last promises 91
is that knowledge shall increase, this is open ended whether one is born again or not, as to us in the Spiritual aspect of it, more than ever before we realize these are the times when the knowledge of the Word of God is needed like never before. And on the worldly bit of it we see the increase in technology from the Year two thousand like never before, as it has been evidenced by invasions after invasions; for we have seen wonderful cameras invented, gadgets [tabs, phones, laptops and many other things to name but a few], worldwide internet, You Tube, Face Book, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp, and very many social platforms, we have seen conference 92
platforms like Zoom, Free Conference Call, Google Meet and many others, speakers and microphones, mobile phones, Televisions and radio stations, and more and more invasions and with all God has let them be for the furthering of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have seen man try to give all kinds of explanations to all these kinds of technologies and hopefully more to come, but the Truth is that God let all these things be just for the Gospel`s sake. When talking about resurrection, in JOHN 11:1-26 the Bible says “NOW A certain man named Lazarus was ill. He was of Bethany, the village where Mary 93
and her sister Martha lived. This Mary was the one who anointed the Lord with perfume and wiped His feet with her hair. It was her brother Lazarus who was [now] sick. So the sisters sent to Him, saying, Lord, he whom You love [so well] is sick. When Jesus received the message, He said, This sickness is not to end in death; but [on the contrary] it is to honor God and to promote His glory, that the Son of God may be glorified through (by) it. Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. [They were His dear friends, and He held them in loving esteem.] Therefore [even] when He heard that Lazarus was sick, He still stayed two days longer in the same place 94
where He was. Then after that interval He said to His disciples, Let us go back again to Judea. The disciples said to Him, Rabbi, the Jews only recently were intending and trying to stone You, and are You [thinking of] going back there again? Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? Anyone who walks about in the daytime does not stumble, because he sees [by] the light of this world. But if anyone walks about in the night, he does stumble, because there is no light in him [the light is lacking to him]. He said these things, and then added, Our friend Lazarus is at rest and sleeping; but I am going there that I may awaken him out of his sleep. The 95
disciples answered, Lord, if he is sleeping, he will recover. However, Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that He referred to falling into a refreshing and natural sleep. So then Jesus told them plainly, Lazarus is dead, And for your sake I am glad that I was not there; it will help you to believe (to trust and rely on Me). However, let us go to him. Then Thomas, who was called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, Let us go too, that we may die [be killed] along with Him. So when Jesus arrived, He found that he [Lazarus] had already been in the tomb four days. Bethany was near Jerusalem, only about two miles away, And a considerable number of the Jews 96
had gone out to see Martha and Mary to console them concerning their brother. When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went to meet Him, while Mary remained sitting in the house. Martha then said to Jesus, Master, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. And even now I know whatever You ask from God, He will grant it to You. Jesus said to her, Your brother shall rise again. Martha replied, I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said to her, I am [Myself] the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on) Me, although he may die, yet he shall live; And 97
whoever continues to live and believes in (has faith in, cleaves to, and relies on) Me shall never [actually] die at all. Do you believe this? She said to Him, Yes, Lord, I have believed [I do believe] that You are the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One), the Son of God, [even He] Who was to come into the world. [It is for Your coming that the world has waited.]” Here we see that Lazarus a friend to Christ died however Christ spoke to the disciples concerning his death saying that he [Lazarus] was asleep. We realize that this was a heavenly language, as we know that to the earthly understanding of death is that death is the end of one`s life here on 98
Earth, however to us who have believed in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we know the distinction between Life and death. And in this regard concerning Life, we see that in JOHN 3:16 the Bible says “For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.” We see that the issue of Life and Death are in a person either choosing to or refusing to believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Lord and Savior over their lives, and nothing else. We also realize although death is 99
presented in very many ways for example; he who does not have the Son does not have Life and such a one abides in death, the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, I was once alive without the Law but when the Law came sin revived and I died. We see that the only solution to all these multi-faceted manifestations of death is believing in Jesus Christ. For He said in JOHN 14:6 that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one goes to the Father except through Him, so emphasis is in believing in Him and leaving the rest to Him. Looking into Scripture we see that very many people had ever died and come 100
back to life, for example, in the Old Testament we saw both prophet Elisha and Elijah restore dead sons of the widows to life [2 KINGS 8:2], in the New Testament we saw Jesus Christ raise a dead girl in MARK 5:41, however there was a distinction in Jesus` death on the cross and resurrection from the dead. In COLOSSIANS 1:18 the Bible says “He also is the Head of [His] body, the church; seeing He is the Beginning, the Firstborn from among the dead, so that He alone in everything and in every respect might occupy the chief place [stand first and be preeminent].” We see that the Bible talks about Jesus Christ as the Firstborn from the dead, that means that He conquered 101
death with its consequences and gained back His Life, for in JOHN 10:17-18 He said “For this [reason] the Father loves Me, because I lay down My [own] life--to take it back again. No one takes it away from Me. On the contrary, I lay down voluntarily. [I put it from Myself.] I am authorized and have power to lay it down (to resign it) and I am authorized and have power to take it back again. These are the instructions (orders) which I have received [as My charge] from My Father.” This means that this death of Jesus Christ was for our benefit as COLOSSIANS 2:13-15 [MSG] says “When you were stuck in your old sin--dead life, you were incapable of responding to 102
God. God brought you alive—right along with Christ! Think of it! All sins forgiven, the state wiped clean, that old arrest warrant cancelled and nailed to Christ`s Cross. He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets.” We see that the death of Jesus Christ was for our liberation from the power of sin and death as by His death He robbed of death its power. In REVELATION 1:18 the Bible says to us “And the Ever-living One [I am living in the eternity of the eternities]. I died, but see, I am alive forevermore; and I possess the keys of death and Hades (the realm of the 103
dead).” This clearly shows us that Jesus Christ overcame death to which we all were on a death sentence and therefore to us [you] who has believed in Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, the Bible says that you were baptized into His death and you rose again with Him, in ROMANS 6:1-14 the Bible says “WHAT SHALL we say [to all this]? Are we to remain in sin in order that God`s grace (favor and mercy) may multiply and overflow? Certainly not! How can we who died to sin live in it any longer? Are you ignorant of the fact that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were buried therefore with Him by the 104
baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious [power] of the Father, so we too might [habitually] live and behave in newness of life. For if we have become one with Him by sharing a death like His, we shall also be [one with Him in sharing] His resurrection [by a new life lived for God]. We know that our old (unrenewed) self was nailed to the cross with Him in order that [our] body [which is the instrument] of sin might be made ineffective and inactive for evil, that we might no longer be the slaves of sin. For when a man dies, he is freed (loosed, delivered) from [the power of] sin [among men]. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we 105
shall also live with Him, Because we know that Christ (the Anointed One), being once raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has power over Him. For by the death He died, He died to sin [ending His relation to it] once for all; and the life that He lives, He is living to God [in unbroken fellowship with Him]. Even so consider yourselves also dead to sin and your relation to it broken, but alive to God [living in unbroken fellowship with Him] in Christ Jesus. Let not sin therefore rule as king in your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies, to make you yield to its cravings and be subject to its lusts and evil passions. Do not continue offering or 106
yielding your bodily members [and faculties] to sin as instruments (tools) of wickedness. But offer and yield yourselves to God as though you have been raised from the dead to [perpetual] life, and your bodily members [and faculties] to God, presenting them as implements of righteousness. For sin shall not [any longer] exert dominion over you, since now you are not under Law [as slaves], but under grace [as subjects of God`s favor and mercy].” Therefore looking at the above Scripture we realize that the death of Jesus Christ at the cross was to end the reign of death on earth [to believers in Him] which death was energized by the Law 107
which presented men as slaves of sin. In this regard the Bible says that we who believe in Jesus Christ were in the like manner baptized into His death; meaning that we were buried with Him by baptism into death that as He was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, we also should walk in newness of life. When talking about this newness of life, we see that our old man [fleshly carnal first Adamic man] was crucified with Christ so that the body of sin might be destroyed and that we should no longer serve sin, as by our death to sin, we have been freed from sin; which means that death also has no dominion over you [us]. We also see that Christ 108
being raised from the dead dies no more as death has no dominion over Him--so are you, as by His death He died unto sin once, that the life He now lives He lives unto God--so are you. And because of this the Bible tells us in verse 12-13 that you should not let sin reign in your mortal body; this means that since you have dominion over sin, you have the ability and power to reject its dictates, but present and yield yourself unto God, as one alive from the dead and your members as instruments of righteousness. My spiritual Father always talks of God delivering you from one thing to present you to another, therefore in this new life, you have been 109
presented as an instrument of righteousness; that means that from you proceeds righteousness as you are the righteousness of God having been begotten by His grace. We realize that since Christ overcame death, you also overcame it and therefore you cannot die again having died to sin the root cause of death, therefore to you [the believer in Christ] you sleep in the Lord, having been resurrected into a new life in Christ the Resurrection and Alpha and Omega of everything. We see that in Scripture, when Christ was informed that Lazarus His friend was dead, He called it “sleep” and not death, we realize that He was 110
communicating to Martha telling her to be strong since He “the Resurrection” was there. This Resurrection Christ spoke of was not concerning that of the resurrection of the dead on His second coming, but it was of “Now”; meaning even to us who have believed in Him we reckon ourselves alive and risen into a new life with Him [Christ]. This does not mean that the so called resurrection has happened, we see that just as Jesus woke Lazarus from his sleep, so will we be woken up from sleep at the appearing of Christ in the clouds, whereas the dead [of this world] will be resurrected from the dead for judgment; of which to us who believe in Jesus Christ, at His 111
appearing we will be caught up to meet Him in the clouds not for judgment but eternal joy and celebration with Him. The Bible speaks of this day in REVELATION 1:7 saying “Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth shall gaze upon Him and beat their breasts and mourn and lament over Him. Even so [must it be]. Amen (so be it).” We see that the Bible speaks of every eye seeing Him, even those who pierced Him; meaning that even those who condemned Him and did not believe Him shall all be mourning and lamenting. It should be noted that the religious leaders of those times relied on the Law 112
yet Faith was come, which Faith they rejected of which we know that no flesh shall be justified by the works of the Law as the Law itself has nothing to do with justification but it shows you sin and condemns you therein without showing you the way out of sin, of which Jesus Christ clearly told us that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father except through Him. And I also wonder how the men that relied on the Law for all their life time shall make it, as we see that the Law is of works and not faith, therefore how will they workout the flying [transportation] to meet Christ in the clouds, which enrapture is totally of Faith. This is why I 113
realize why the Bible in MATTHEW 24:17, says that let him who is in the field not come down and go into the house to take anything [MARK 13:15], and in MATTHEW 24:40 that Two shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left [LUKE 17:36]; this means that this shall be an absolutely faith winking of an eye event just like the Israelites and the Egyptians passing of the angel of death over Egypt [EXODUS 12:23], the Bible says that He will separate His own just as a shepherd separates sheep from goats, for the Bible says in MATTHEW 25:31-34 that “When the Son of Man comes in His glory (His majesty and splendor), and all the holy angels with 114
Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them [the people] from one another as a shepherd separates his sheep from the goats; And He will cause the sheep to stand at His right hand, but the goats at His left. Then the King will say to those at His right hand, Come, you blessed of My Father [you favored of God and appointed to eternal salvation], inherit (receive as your own) the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” PHILIPPIANS 2:8-11 tells us “And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of 115
death, even the death of the cross! Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, That in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, And every tongue [frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” There is something funny about the Pharisees, Sadducees and Scribes, in MATTHEW 22:23-32 the Bible says “The same day some Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection [of the dead], came to Him and they asked Him a question, Saying, Teacher, Moses 116
said, if a man dies, leaving no children, his brother shall marry the widow and raise up a family for his brother. Now there were seven brothers among us; the first married and died, and having no children, left his wife to his brother. The second also died childless, and the third, down to the seventh. Last of all, the woman also. Now, in the resurrection, to which of the seven will she be wife? For they all had her. But Jesus replied to them, You are wrong because you know neither the Scriptures nor the God`s power. For in the resurrected state neither do [men] marry nor are [women] given in marriage, but they are like the angels in heaven. But as to the 117
resurrection of the dead--have you never read what was said to you by God, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? He is not the God of the dead but of the living!” Considering the above Scripture we see that the Sadducees held that there was no resurrection because of a foolish premise which they reasoned by their thoughts, we see and know that the things of God are not of logic or reasoning, but of Faith as we believe in His Word, we see Jesus tell these Sadducees that they held this question in them just because they knew not the Scriptures nor the power of God. Just look at how certain things can make one 118
miss the Kingdom of God. We also see Jesus speak of a fundamental principle, that He said that He is the God of the living and not the dead, as already pointed out that we who live this body [flesh] in Christ do not die, we sleep in this body, and go to be with the Father in heaven. This is the very reason the Bible speaks of the twenty four elders in heaven worshipping God [REVELATION 4:4], this is why the Bible speaks of us having a cloud of witnesses cheering upon us [HEBREWS 12:1], this is why the Bible speaks of Lazarus the beggar having died then gone to rest at the bosom of Abraham [LUKE 16:23], this is why when Jesus rose from the grave, He ascended 119
to Heaven [MARK 16:19]; this means that we are alive to a Covenant that precedes the grave. We also see the deception that is held by certain people that they shall be given in to marriage; this is false. Believe in the Son of God. Speaking of this time [end of time], the Bible speaks in HAGGAI 2:6-7 saying “For thus says the Lord of hosts: Yet once more, in a little while, I will shake and make the [starry] heavens, the earth, the sea, and the dry land; And I will shake all nations and the desire and precious things of all nations shall come in, and I will fill this house with splendor, says the Lord of hosts.” We see that the things concerning this shaking happened on the 120
day Jesus Christ gave up His Spirit on the cross, the Bible in MATTHEW 27:45-54 says that; 1. From the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land; meaning that the sun and stars in heaven were no longer giving there light. 2. The veil of the temple was rent in twain from top to the bottom; meaning that another temple not made with human hands was being established. 3. The earth did quake, and the rocks rent; implying the shaking on earth. 4. And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, and came out of the graves after His resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many; this firstly showed the defeat of 121
death, and the power of God concerning the New Covenant that was established through Jesus` death and resurrection from the dead. We also note that after these saints arose from the dead they did not return to the grave but went to stay with our Father God. We also see that this is now the latter house spoken of in HAGGAI 2:9 saying “The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.” [JOHN 5:29] We see that to this house [Church] it is God Who is in control of it, and no more is man in charge of it; we see that Jesus became our High Priest, Mediator, Advocate, and 122
everything. However we see of another shaking which is not designated in the Time frame [as the sun and moon which are for season and times shall be no more], the Bible says in REVELATION 6:9-17 “When the Lamb broke open the fifth seal, I saw at the foot of the altar the souls of those whose lives had been sacrificed for [adhering to] the Word of God and for the testimony they had borne. They cried in a loud voice, O [Sovereign] Lord, holy and true, how long now before You will sit in judgment and avenge our blood upon those who dwell on the earth? Then they were each given a long and flowing and festive white robe 123
and told to rest and wait patiently a little while longer, until the number should be complete of their fellow servants and their brethren who were to be killed as they themselves had been. When He [the Lamb] broke open the sixth seal, I looked, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun grew black as sackcloth of hair, [the full disc of] the moon became like blood. And the stars of the sky dropped to the earth like a fig tree shedding its unripe fruit out of season when shaken by a strong wind. And the sky rolled up like a scroll and vanished, and every mountain and island was dislodged from its place. Then the kings of the earth and their noblemen 124
and their magnates and their military chiefs and the wealthy and strong and [everyone, whether] slave or free hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, And they called to the mountains and rocks, Fall on (before) us and hide us from the face of Him Who sits on the throne and from the deep-seated indignation and wrath of the Lamb. For the great day of His wrath (vengeance, retribution, indignation) has come, and who is able to stand before it?” We see and know that this day is full of grief, however what catches my attention is that all these categories of people had things that occupied and wasted them for example, Kings and 125
noble men could be occupied with serving men in their leadership positions and also utilizing their wealth, slaves could have been occupied with serving the royals and pleasing the king, however we see that all these excuses will not be applied on that day, as the question will be pertaining to why someone refused to believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God; these are the very people spoken of in many of Jesus` parables which spoke of them who were invited into the feast but turned down the invitation. For LUKE 14:16-20 says “But Jesus said to him, A man was once giving a great supper and invited many; And at the hour for the supper he sent his servant to say to 126
those who had been invited, come, for all is now ready. But they all alike began to make excuses and to beg off. The first said to him, I have bought a piece of land, and I have to go out and see it; I beg you, have me excused. And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to examine and put my approval on them; I beg you, have me excused. And another said, I have married a wife, and because of this I am unable to come…” This means that at the time of the invitation these people had certain things that were bigger than the invitation and yet to us we know that we lose our lives only to find it in Christ. This means that it is also possible in the 127
present world for someone to sing worldly music or play all sorts of entertaining movies, games for people who have received Salvation, and then at the end when they have not secured their place in God. This calls for someone to make a choice pertaining their life. Amen. 128
If anyone wants to receive Jesus Christ as her [his] personal Lord and Savior, please say out [confess] the words below having believed in your heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Say; Dear Heavenly Father, I believe with my heart that Jesus Christ is Your Son and Lord and Savior over my life, I declare that I am born again. Amen. You are now born again into a new life. 129
