LeJeune, LeBoeuf, Plaisance, Purgahn win USSSA titles It took an extra hole in the boys 15-18 division of the Mizuno Louisiana USSSA Junior Golf Tour Jan. 10 Hub City Classic to determine a winner, but when it was all done Jace LeJeune (Jennings, La.) was victorious at The Wetlands Golf Course in Lafayette. Cold and windy conditions greeted the competitors, but despite that, LeJeune and Collin Duplechain (Breaux Bridge, La.) finished tied after regulation at 77. Gage Landry (Prairieville, La.) was third at 80. In the boys’ 12-14 division, Jude LeBoeuf (Larose, La.) won after posting a 76, which was one shot better than Ben Blanco of Broussard, La. Hayden Bertrand (Eunice, La.) was third at 86. In the highest girls division (15-18), Halle Plaisance (Raceland, La.) returned to the winner's circle with a 93, which was 11 shots better than Isabella Bradley of Lake Charles, La. In the girls’ 12-14 division, Mattie Purgahn ran away with the title as her 81 was 14 shots better than second-place finisher Emmi Marceaux. Purgahn and Marceaux reside in Lake Charles, La. Shreveport’s Addison Montoya finished third at 104. Next up for the Mizuno Louisiana USSSA Junior Golf Tour is the President’s Cup on Feb. 21 at Ellendale Country Club in Houma, La.
