Dancing Rabbit holding March Madness Pro-Am Dancing Rabbit Golf Club (Choctaw, Miss.) will be putting on a March Madness PGA Pro-Am Tournament on Monday, March 22. The four-person teams will consist of one PGA Golf Professional and three amateurs.The format will produce two different scores (one using low-ball gross and the other using one low-ball net score). PGA of American Professionals and PGA Apprentices are welcomed. All amateur players must have a GHIN handicap. There will be senior tees (over 50 and over 65 years old) in play and the professionals will have a ‘par’ partner on the team gross score. Based on a full field, the team awards will be $1,000 for first, with the low-pro pot being $120 for first.Team awards for second place are $800;Third place $600 and fourth place is $400.The low-pro pot for second is $80, third is $60 and fourth is $40. The entry fee of $440 per team, which includes prizes for a hole-in-one as well as closest-to-the-hole and long-drive contests on the course. In addition there is a low-amateur prize as well. Bloody Mary’s before the round, shared cart, practice balls, tee gift, boxed lunch, refreshments during play and happy hour after play are also included in the entry fee. There are a limited number of discounted rooms available for $69 at Silver Star Hotel and Casino for Sunday and Monday nights. Practice rounds will be available for a $20 cart fee on Sunday, March 21. Action starts on Monday morning when registration opens up at 8am, followed by a 10 am shotgun start.The awards ceremony is slated for 3 pm. For more info, email plove@pearlriverresort.com.
