The latest ace was by Hansel Mabile and reported on Jan. 29 at The University Club in Baton Rouge, La.The 132-yard shot was on No. 16 and with a 9-wood.Witnesses were Jerome Mabile and Brent Boe. On Jan. 28, Nick Blady recorded an ace at the Jay and Lionel Hebert Memorial Golf Course in Lafayette, La.The hole-in-one was on No. 10 with a 52-degree wedge from 106 yards. Ron Benoit aced No. 14 at LaTour Golf Club (Mathews, La.) on Jan. 23.The 176-yard shot was with a 3-iron into a stiff wind.Witnesses were Roland Gaubert,Terry Kraemer and Joe Ruddy.This was the first ever ace for Benoit, who is 56 and resides in Thibodaux, La. He is a member at LaTour. On Jan. 21,Watson Turnipseed made a hole-in-one at Sunkist Country Club (Biloxi, Miss.) on No. 14, which was playing at 124 yards.The pitching-wedge shot was witnessed by Chett Landry. Lawrence Allan recorded an ace on Jan. 21 at The University Club in Baton Rouge, La.The 160-yard shot on No. 5 was with an 8-iron while playing with Tim Melancon, Chris Ewing and Grady Brame. Also at The University Club, Keaton Barr aced No. 13 on Jan .18 from 146 yards with a 9-iron. Witnesses were Ryan Ferguson, Evan Fontenot,Will Macken and Baylen Sass. Gary Soltis recorded a hole-in-one at Sunkist Country Club (Biloxi, Miss.) on Jan. 17. The shot was on No. 14 and with a 6-hybrid while playing with Dick French and Lou Parrello. On Jan. 15, Dennis Mauzy aced the fourth hole at Windance Country Club in Gulfport, Miss.The 137-yard shot was with an 8-iron while playing with Ron Lightfoot, Ron Yanik and John Avila.
