CLUBS SINGLES CLUB By Carol Corley Lake Ashton has a lot of clubs, and one is especially for Singles. Our club has about 80 members and gets together every Sunday afternoon, 2 p.m. in the Clubhouse, for cards, and a meeting the 1st Sunday of every month. After the meeting and cards, which lasts until a bit after 4 p.m., we usually go out for dinner. A different restaurant is chosen every week. Cards is a very easy one to learn — 5 Crown. Other choices would be welcomed. We also occasionally go out to restaurants during the week, and are very open to suggestions as to what other activities would be fun. Please come and join us. GARDEN CLUB By Lyn Davis The Lake Ashton Garden Club was on hiatus during the months of July and August. The club will resume meeting the second Wednesday of the month. The next meeting is September 11 at 10 am in the Pavilion. A guest speaker will present caring, propagating and general knowledge on African Violets. The club welcomes anyone interested in learning, maintaining or just acquiring knowledge to any meetings. A green thumb isn’t needed to attend nor participate in any of the meetings. If new to Lake Ashton, please check us out. GENEALOGY CLUB By Jane Imparl Join us for the next installment of finding our elusive ancestors.
