LA REPUBLICAN CLUB By Linda Sandel Please join us for LARC's meeting on Wednesday, September 25 in the Clubhouse Ballroom. Social time begins at 3:30 pm and the meeting begins at 4. The guest speaker is John Lynn, Chairman, Polk County Chapter of The Republican Liberty Caucus. The focus will be how YOU can impact the November presidential election and the future direction of our country. Guests are welcome. We look forward to seeing you at the meeting! LAVA AUXILIARY By Chris Graves Our next meeting on September 18 at 6:30 pm at the Clubhouse Ballroom near the stage is going to be an important and exciting meeting. The meeting will focus on the Craft Fair (October 26). We will be finalizing our Volunteer Teams. It is you, the volunteers, that help to make the event so successful. So much so that at the end of Craft Fair we have many vendors that have completed their registration for next year. All of your efforts are appreciated and we look forward to seeing you on September 18. CALLING ALL BAKERS! The baked goods provided by Lake Ashton Residents is an important part of the Craft Fair. The last two years we have SOLD OUT and it has proven to be a major part of the funds that we raise for the veterans. Call Debbie Platt 863-318-9376 for more information. God Bless America. MAGIC YEARS CLUB By Lynne Judd The Magic Years Club is a great fit for anyone in Lake Ashton who loves Disney! The Club usually meets on the second Monday of the month at the HFC at 7 pm in the Craft Room, but for September only, the meeting will be held on the third Monday, September 16, same time and place. Club members enjoy sharing information, memories, trivia questions and anything new about WDW, and all are welcome. We sometimes plan to get together at a Disney restaurant for lunch, or set up a viewing of a Disney movie at the Cinema in LA. In the past, we have also signed up for some of the tours Disney offers, such as Keys to the Kingdom and Wild Africa Trek. We welcome new ideas and new members. Hope to see you all at the next meeting! Contact: Lynne Judd, Club Moderator, 631-987-3230. LA ROCKERS By Annie Lutz As the summer begins to wind down, we are looking forward to our snowbird members returning over the next few months. The group has been busy creating rocks at our summer free paint sessions, and we’re so happy to see your posts showing your finds. Our mission is to spread kindness and bring a smile to our community. One message at just the right moment can change someone’s entire day, outlook, and life. LA Rockers meet in the HFC Community Room from 1 to 3 pm on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month. The 1st Wednesday meeting is for current members to learn new skills and techniques. We will be resuming our normal schedule in September, so there will be a new lesson on September 4 for current members. The 3rd Wednesday is a “Free Paint and Newcomers Session”. Newcomers are welcome to come and give the group a try! Newcomers will be lent the supplies they need for their first session so you must contact MJ Richards (mjmrichards517@gmail.com) at least five days before your first meeting so that supplies can be provided. If you are lucky enough to find a rock, please post a photo of your rock on Talk of Lake Ashton’s (TOLA) Facebook page. It means a lot for us to see where our rocks go.
