FREE! No partner needed! SUMMER LINE DANCING Instructor: Lorrie Shearin Class will be held every Thursday at the HFC through September 28. 1 pm Beginners: Everyone is welcome, no experience needed. Dances will be easy and fun, dances used at River Ranch will be taught. 2 pm Improvers: Dances will have tags, restarts, turns, and maybe faster. Some experience may help, but everyone can try and learn new dances that may seem more advanced. Sometimes they are easier than they look. Note: Wear shoes you can dance in! No flip flops or Crocs. CHERYL’S DANCE CLASS Join us for a fun dance class meant just to enjoy dancing and friendships. Class is open to all and is held weekly on Thursdays from 10 to 11:30 am at the HFC basketball courts. CLASSICAL MUSIC PROGRAM By Ken Hoffman The Lake Ashton Classical Music Program returns for three months of once a week classes starting Monday, September 4 at 2 pm in the Clubhouse Cinema. In this segment we will explore the music of the "Early Romantic" period (1820-1860). Lake Ashton resident Ken Hoffman explains the concepts of 19th century romanticism and covers the great orchestra, chamber, and solo piano music of Franz Schubert, Hector Berlioz, Frédéric Chopin, Franz Liszt, Robert Schumann, and Felix 29 Mendelssohn. The political, and social-cultural events affecting the arts of the era will be discussed. Newcomers can sign up in class. LA MEN’S BIBLE STUDY By Jim Brendemuehl The Men’s Bible Study would like to welcome back our snowbirds and our new residents and invite you to join us at our weekly meetings. Our goal is NOT to convert anyone. We are here to help you grow in YOUR faith, and to be as knowledgable in God as you are in your favorite baseball, or football team. We are not a group of “Sunday Preachers”, but a group of ordinary guys preparing for our next LIFE. We meet every Tuesday from 10 am to Noon face-to-face in the HFC and offer a Zoom connection for those who wish to use that option. Our group is a non-denominational, with a goal of helping people to grow in understanding the Bible. We are currently discussing 1st and 2nd Peter. LA WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY By Louise Gilla We are still offering the Bible study to the women of the community — this will be our 17th year! We have been inspired, and are grateful to offer this excellent way to present a study of God's Word. The opening class will be Wednesday, October 11 at 10 am at the HFC Community Center. All Lake Ashton Women are invited to attend. We will studying the Book of Romans, and the workbook will be available to purchase by October 1, or on the first day of class.
