LA GETAWAYS By Shelley Brodka Thank you to everyone that attended the Lake Ashton Getaways Club Kick-Off September 30 in the Lake Ashton Clubhouse. Holly from Small World Tours was there to talk about our Lake Ashton 2026 Bus Trips, and Art talked about our trip to Italy, New Years 2026 Cruise and 2027 Tour from Denver to Las Vegas. The next Lake Ashton Getaway meeting will be held Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 11 am to 1 pm. Dues for the Lake Ashton Getaways Membership are $12 and can be paid through Ticketleap or by check payable to Lake Ashton Getaways and dropped off at the Clubhouse OFfice. Membership will allow you early access to information and booking future trips, a bit of savings and help us provide snacks at our regular meetings. ALL Lake Ashton Residents are welcome and encouraged to participate in all Lake Ashton Getaways trips or events. You will get to meet your neighbors and get to make some great memories. Sign up for membership and bus trips and take a flyer for the trips you are interested in at Monday Coffee through October. Non-members will pay an additional $5 for each bus trip. LA BELLES By Joan DiBattista Lunch for the Belles will be brewing at L'Incontro, (35 State Rd 60 W, Lake Wales) Wednesday, October 29 at noon. Get out those costumes and enter the best prize contest. BOLLA By Linda Warden Blankets Of Love at Lake Ashton continues to meet every Monday from 1 to 3 pm in the Clubhouse Craft Room. Although some members are snowbirds or travel in the summer those remaining continued to work on blankets for the children in crisis here in Polk County. Our members have begun delivering blankets to the local schools as the new school year starts. If you have some extra time to spare please consider coming and joining us. We always have fun, interesting conversations and occasional sweet treats. No need to be able to sew. Just be able to tie knots. All supplies are furnished. LA SINGLES CLUB By Carol Corley Lake Ashton’s Singles Club had a very interesting September meeting, learning about all the potential activities in which we could participate, like the Christmas Dinner Dance at the Clubhouse, and LA Getaways, a travel club which promises interesting trips to near and far places.
