CLUBS FACILITATORS MEETING & RESERVATION RENEWALS All Club, Group, and Organization facilitators (or their designee) are required to attend a mandatory meeting on October 14 at the HFC at 1 pm prior to renewing reservations for the upcoming season. The meeting will last one hour and will be informative for all. We are eager to see everyone to thank them for all they do to make Lake Ashton "Simply the Best". Clubs, Groups, and Organizations, collectively “Clubs”, can renew their standing reservations for 2026 at the Clubhouse November 5 through 14. An electronic form will be sent to all facilitators. Any changes to facilitator contact information should be emailed to clane@lakeashtoncdd.com before November 1. LA PICKLEBALL By Dennis Santino Summer is behind us and we look forward to fall when Lake Ashton comes alive! LAPA wants to acknowledge our Social Committee Members Suzanne, Lisa, Sharon and Tammy (pictured below L to R) and Martha and Marcia for all the hard work they put into our fun Mixer and Fun Day events. They are always coming up with creative activities such as the human foosball game played during our September Fun Day. They have a great lineup planned for the remainder of 2025 including: October 31: Halloween Costume Games, November 13: “Lake Ashton Day of Kindness” Mortimer Mixer, and November 21: New Courts Celebration Dance at the HFC. Please contact one of the members of the social committee if you are 32 interested in joining. They welcome the help and fresh activity ideas. Don’t miss out on all this fun. Join LAPA today! Coaches Corner “One of the most important keys to successful doubles play is communication between partners. It is even more important to listen to the communication of your partner. Remember my #1 rule: HAVE FUN!” LA SWIM CLUB By Sandy White Can you imagine a bunch of men and women, 50 years and older, getting together for a swim meet? Well, the National Senior Games program has been doing that since 1970. There are local, regional, statewide, and national competitions. Our 6-year-old LA Swim Club has had swimmers at all those levels. Most club members got involved in LASC for fitness, but some heard about the fun swim meets and used the competition as motivation to keep up their fitness activity. The swim meets our club has enjoyed most are in Sanford, FL (which will be held November 2) and Polk Co. (which will be held March 7-8, 2026 at the Rowdy Gaines pool in Winter Haven). Several swimmers had never competed and were nervous to try, but they found these events to be very enjoyable. Anyone who can swim two or more lengths is welcome to attend any of our reserved pool times Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 to 2 pm and Saturdays 10 to 11 am. Some do their own workouts and others follow the club's written workouts. Coach Sandy White offers tips that match your goals (i.e., fitness, technique, efficiency, speed, endurance). For more information, email sandyw1994@aol.com or come see us at the pool. FRIENDLY BOCCE GROUP By Stephanie Iszak All Lake Ashton residents are invited to come out on Mondays and Fridays from 10 am to 1 pm to play some fun games of Bocce Ball. No experience is required.
