Join Lake Ashton Getaways and make your next adventure one to remember! LA TRAVELERS By Carolyn Bishop The Lake Ashton Travelers are wrapping up their 2026 season with a few exciting adventures! In October, the group rallied to the Arcadia Rodeo, staying at Ranch RV Resort just a short jaunt from the Rodeo Fairgrounds. Watching real cowboys and cowgirls 33 rope and ride was thrilling and impr essive. Enjoying cowboy beans, playing a competitive game of cornhole, and spending time with fellow campers were just a few of the highlights. Next, the Travelers will cross the border into Georgia to explore Brunswick, St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island. Searching for the famous tree spirits around St. Simons Island will be a fun challenge for everyone. Coastal Georgia RV Resort will host the group for this adventure. The Travelers’ Annual Business Meeting and elections will take place Tuesday, November 10, in the Clubhouse. Check-in begins at 3 pm, and the meeting starts at 3:30 pm. All members are encouraged to attend. Finally, the Annual Holiday Party will wrap up the year on Tuesday, December 8, at HFC, beginning at 5 pm. Tickets will go on sale at the Annual Business Meeting in November. SUPPORT COMMUNITY CLUBS, GROUPS, AND ORGANI ZATIONS Residents interested in joining a new group should visit the Clubhouse or HFC Activities Office to obtain the contact information for the facilitator of the club, group, or organization they are trying to join. Staff always encourages residents to become more involved in community activities designed to benefit the body, mind, and spirit and with the support of the many club, group, and organization facilitators this will be possible for everyone. Supervisors and staff would like to extend a special thank you to all the club, group, and organization facilitators. These volunteers work very hard to ensure there is a robust activities schedule for all to enjoy. Lake Ashton is lucky to have a large number of residents willing to volunteer their time in one way or another for everyone to live their best retired life. Be sure to thank a volunteer when you see them.
