GOLF LA NINERS By Sandy Hockenberry Niners’ Opening Day Celebration was held on October 1, at the Eagles Nest after a fun round of golf. Everyone received a blue insulted tote bag, which included a mini bottle of alcohol. Lunch was wings, salad bar and flat breads, with individual fall pies for dessert. Sandra and the ladies from the Eagles Nest, did an outstanding job! Ten lucky ladies won a free lunch. November games will be: November 5 – Luck of the Draw (team game) – players are assigned a number, at the next tee box, an envelope will reveal which players score will be used for the previous hole. Lunch with Friends will follow the golf game at Charm City. November 12 – 1 Best Net Even / 2 Best Nets Odd (individual game) – take the best net on even numbered holes and 2 best nets on odd numbered holes. November 19 – 2 Person Scramble (team game) – A + D players are a team and B + C players are a team for a 2 person scramble. November 26 – 5 Clubs (individual game) – Each player plays with only five clubs for the entire round. The Niners are back to a 9:30 am start time for Tuesday golf. Meeting time is 9:10 am for announcements. Applications for the 2024 – 2025 season are available at the ProShop, dues are $30.00 to be paid before your first round. The event will not be rescheduled. In October, members were asked to vote on proposed changes to the LAMGA bylaws. That vote took place as this article went to press. In November, members will vote to fill three seats on the LAMGA board currently held by the president, finance chairman and publicity chairman. Nomination forms are available starting November 1 and must be turned in by November 15. Any active, enrolled LAMGA member may run for the board. Online voting will take place from November 18 to 27. Official results will be announced at LAMGA’s annual meeting on December 4. Many LAMGA members who have signed up for the Pink Ribbon Golf Tournament taking place Nov. 9 will be in their best pink attire for this great fund-raising event.
