EVENTS RELAY FOR LIFE By David Harrison The American Cancer Society will hold a rescheduled Relay For Life event July 16 at Venue 650 in Winter Haven. The LA Purple Stars are selling luminaries for a suggested minimum donation of $5, which includes a tea lite. The Purple Stars are asking all Lake Ashton residents to buy several bags, in order to place your bags on your driveway at 8 pm on July 7 to"Light up Lake Ashton” and honor those fighting cancer or remember those who lost their fight. The Purple Stars are also selling raffle tickets at Monday Coffee — $1 each or 6 for $5 for a beautiful basket, filled with hundreds of dollars of gift cards & merchandise, and two beautiful wreaths. The book is composed of short stories relating to his recollections of true events from his early years growing up in Solomon's Island, Maryland.
