4TH OF JULY weekend Celebration Friday, July 2: Show your patriotism with a wearable craft made by you! Join Valerie Fetcho of The Art of Beading in the Ballroom at 1 pm to learn how to make a beaded American Flag pin to wear. You will be able to make a red, white, and blue bracelet as well. Please sign up for this free event at the Clubhouse Activities Desk or on the online form. Saturday, July 3: Enjoy fresh sliced watermelon and fruit-infused water while poolside along with fun summer games at the Clubhouse outdoor pool at 1 pm. Sunday, July 4: It’s hot, so we are bringing the cookout in! Celebrate America with classic cookout foods prepared by Ashton Tap & Grill and rock out with Southbound Band. You get a burger, a hot dog, baked beans, corn on the cob, pasta salad, an ice cream sundae bar, iced tea, lemonade, and amazing live music all for $20! The fun will be from 1 pm to 4 pm in the Clubhouse Ballroom. Tickets are on sale at the Clubhouse Activities Desk and residents can now buy tickets for their guests. 4th of July Par 3 Scramble Pick Your Foursome — Shotgun start at 9 am on July 4. Cost: $22.50/person, includes lunch and prize purse. The most patriotic team will win lunch from the Pro Shop! Sign-up sheet is posted in the Pro Shop. Lunch Menu: Hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, coleslaw, macaroni salad, baked beans, and soft serve ice cream. 25 4th of July LA Rockers Fund Raiser By Peggy Vogt The LA Rockers have been busy painting the coolest rocks for the Lake Ashton Community to enjoy at the July 4th Annual Rock Show and Fundraiser, being held from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm in the Clubhouse Ballroom. There are so many talented artists in this group, you will be amazed at the fun variety of painted rocks that will be on display! Everything from birds and butterflies, Florida nature, L.A. souvenir rocks, sports teams, children's rocks, "turtle garden art" and more. There will also be a "silent auction" for some of the most AMAZING rocks you won't want to miss! Please come out and help support your LA Rockers. Proceeds go towards paint supplies needed in order to continue the work throughout the community by painting and hiding "kindness" rocks, ”Welcome Rocks" for new residents, painting rocks for special events, fundraisers and for area nursing home residents. Lake Ashton Annual Fourth of July Parade 2021 By Jim Mecsics, LAVA Commander The Lake Ashton Veterans Association is presenting the Annual Fourth of July Parade. As in the past, classic cars and other conveyances (bicycles, etc.) are welcome as well as golf carts. Come join your Lake Ashton neighbors and decorate your carts, cars or whatever, and “parade” through the community on the morning of America’s Birthday. Sign-up sheets are at the HFC and Clubhouse Activities Desks. Line up for the parade will start at 9:30 am on July 4 at the HFC Parking Lot with the parade starting at 10. If you prefer not to decorate your cart, just come and join to celebrate the Fourth throughout Lake Ashton. There will be prizes for the best decorated carts or other vehicles. So, come on out Lake Ashton and celebrate Independence Day with a good oldfashioned parade … sort of. See you there!
