LA ROCKERS By MJ Richards LA Rockers hope you were lucky enough to snag a 250th Patriotic rock at the HFC and Clubhouse on July 4th! The leftover rocks will be hidden around Veteran’s Day for you to find. Kindness rocks continue to be hidden throughout the neighborhood. Our classes resume on Wednesday, August 19 at the HFC which is a “free paint” for regular members and an orientation will be provided for those who want to give us a try. We will supply everything you need for your first time. SINGLES CLUB By Sil Wells Lake Ashton singles are welcome to join other singles on Sunday afternoons from 2 to 4 pm in the Clubhouse Ballroom to play cards. A monthly meeting is held on the first Sunday of the month at 2, and a ‘singles mingle’ on the third Thursday each month at the Pavilion … weather permitting. The mingle is a time to share snacks and fun. The July Singles’ main project of gifting 6 ‘Senior Orphans’ was extremely successful for our group and the ‘Orphans.’ Come join a fun and interesting group. LADIES LUNCH BUNCH By Sue Pan The August Ladies Lunch Bunch will be at L’Incontro Italian Restaurant (SR 60 East in Lake Wales) on August 29 at noon. Hosts are Suzanne Patrick (941-628-0759) and Sue Pan (863-241-3203). 29 GENEALOGY CLUB By Jane Imparl The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, August 12 at 2 pm in the HFC Craft Room. We will finish the topic of organization and then also discuss the topic of historical context. It sounds boring at first glance, but oh, there is so much interesting information to find to help us understand the times in which our ancestors lived and how those times influenced their lives for the good and the bad. DUPLICATE BRIDGE By Don Fuller, Reported by Howard Mayne Duplicate bridge is played on Monday at 12:45 in the Club House Card Room. The game is open to all residents regardless of skill level, although players should have experience playing bridge. Ideally, players need a partner, but the Director can help people find partners, since we have approximately 60 players in the group.
