LA WALKS FOR A CURE By Pamela June Lake Ashton residents, family and friends gathered on March 10 for a Walk for a Cure, taking time to honor loved ones lost to cancer while standing in solidarity with those still fighting. The event blended elements of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life emphasizing support for cancer research. Several participants were cancer survivors themselves. At dusk the group lit luminaria bags as a quiet tribute to loved ones lost to cancer. The evening was a shared moment of compassion and remembrance, a reminder of the lives touched by a disease that has claimed far too many, and a collective expression of hope for a cure. PALMS & PEARLS Ladies, get ready to flamingle at the Clubhouse’s annual ladies’ luncheon on May 13 at 11:30 am and shop the fine products brought to you by Dillard’s. Enjoy a salad bar and see trending fashions modeled by some of Lake Ashton’s very own ladies in the fashion show, also presented by Dillard’s. Tickets are $28 and go on sale April 3 online and at the Clubhouse Activities Office. PIZZA PARTY Celebrate National Pizza Party Day in the Clubhouse Ballroom on May 15 at 6 pm!
