Cub Scouts Page 6 Pack 19 has concluded another great month of Scouting adventure. We started the month off by designing and building kites from scratch. No 2 kites were the same. Some small and some big and everything in between. The following week we attempted to fly the kites, but Mother Nature would not allow enough wind for extended flight. Awards were given for longest flight, largest kite, most Scout spirit and best design. The weekend of July 20 & 21 Pack 19 headed to Blue Mountain Lake for our annual summer camping trip. It was a scorcher. Even with the heat, fun was had by all with games, swimming, relaxing, playground time and fellowship. The BSA is one of a few groups allowed to officially retire US flags and we presented a flag retirement ceremony at the campground. The Scouts invited other campers to join us for the program. Over 20 flags were properly retired by fire in a solemn and special ceremony. It is always a proud and moving moment. On the 23rd scouters visited the Eastgate swimming pool for some water fun. And finally on the 30th Pack 19 took over the Creekmore Putt Putt for some heated minigolf competition and sno-cones. As children get ready to head back to school it is also a great time to get into Scouting. All interested families are invited to attend any Pack event to meet other Scouts and check us out.
