What is ESN? Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is the biggest student association in Europe. Registered in 1989 for supporting and developing student exchange and mobility, it currently has 540 local sections in 42 countries in the European Higher Education Area. ESN operates on three different levels: local, national, and international. ESN works for the creation of a more mobile and flexible education environment by supporting and developing student exchange from different levels and providing an intercultural experience to local students who do not have the opportunity to go on exchange abroad (“internationalization at home”). ESN Vaasa is one of 17 local sections in Finland. Our section organizes activities targeted to students of the five higher education institutes located in Vaasa. We also welcome guests from other cities and countries to take part in our events and activities. We have a fantastic board working hard to provide the best experience to all internationally minded students. All our work is also made possible by our active members. These members are volunteers that help us with preparations and implementations of the events, trips and more. To become an active member, you can send an email to president@esnvaasa.net or join the Whatsapp group for actives found in our Instagram bio. You can also join the Facebook groups and general WhatsApp group for all ESN students in Vaasa. We also provide a housing specific Whasapp group collection so that you can get to know and keep in touch with everyone that lives near you. Some of our activities: • Welcome to Finland Party • Pub Quizes • 3 Sitsit parties per semester • 1 or 2 theme parties per semester • Outdoor BBQ • Climbing with our partner WasaUp • Bowling with our partner CinemaBowling • Trips to St. Petersburg, Lapland, Lofoten Islands, and the Baltics in cooperation with Timetravels • ESN Finland’s Pirates of the Baltic Sea cruise • Farewell Party Contact us: board@esnvaasa.net www.ESNvaasa.net @esnvaasa 29
