PREP ARA TOR Y SCHOOL Excerpts from Head Prefects’ Speeches 2019 I was a shy and quiet girl when I started, but Year 3 was great and I settled down really quickly. School has always felt like a really positive place that let me find out who I am and who I might yet become. I knew I wanted to be Head Girl and worked hard to earn it – and I hope I have made a positive impression. It’s not easy to always be responsible, but being at TC has given me the belief in myself to be anything I want to be. I have lots of ambition and have taken every opportunity I have been given - and TC has given me more than I can count. I love this community – it’s supported me, it’s a brilliant environment to learn in and I hope I’ve given lots back too. I’d like to thank everyone in Prep School who has helped me get to here and the other girls in Year 6 who have become the best of friends. It’s been brilliant for me! Thank you. Nancy Hague, Head Girl, Year 6 My long journey at TC began in the Pre-School room and has been full of challenges and fun from that day to this. The Prep School has helped me to see that learning and challenges can be fun, and as a member of the boarding houses I am especially lucky to be part of the wider School community. This is something I am really grateful for. Outside of sports, my favourite subject is probably science and I really enjoyed the challenge of building circuits. But whether it’s building circuits, improving my mental maths ability or trying new subjects in the Boat programme – Prep School has let me try so many things that have helped me become more confident, more independent and more ambitious. I think that if I hadn’t been a TC pupil for all of these years I would be a different sort of person now. So thank you Prep School and the whole TC community. I don’t know what I want to do when I grow up yet, but I now have the ambition to know that anything is possible if I work hard and look out for all the opportunities that are out there. Euan Jackson, Head Boy, Year 6
