CES gets practice green Christ Episcopal School (Covington, La.) has launched a golf program and has an impressive practice green to implement that program for students in first through 12th grade. The completion of the practice green was a collaboration between the CES Booster Club and the Kelly Gibson Foundation.Also involved in the construction was Jon Schmenk with Aim Point Accuracy, Rob Noel, Gulf Turf Solutions and RCI Landscaping.The golf program at CES will be affiliated with the Rob Noel Golf Academy in nearby Abita Springs, La. Founded in 1984, Christ Episcopal School is an independent, co-educational college preparatory day school for students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.The school, with its 600-plus students, is set on two unique, idyllic campuses in Covington, which is 40 miles north of New Orleans. Bergeron ties DCC course record www.christepiscopalschool.org On Oct. 27 at Diamondhead Country Club’s Pine Course, Jacob Bergeron registered nine birdies as he tied the course record with a 63. Bergeron, who played for LSU and is from Slidell, La., is currently in the second stage of the PGA Tour’s Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying School. Bergeron is one of 10 former LSU players in Q School, which concludes Dec. 12-15 at Orange Country National Golf Course in Winter Garden, Fla.
