Jacks named GSPGA Professional of the Year The Gulf States PGA awarded its chapter winners for this year with Baton Rouge Country Club Head Professional Bobby Jacks being named Professional of the Year. "I am very honored to be nominated as Golf Professional of the Year," said Jacks, who currently serves as Vice President of the GSGPA Louisiana Chapter. "I have many mentors that have helped me get to where I am today, but more importantly I would like to thank Baton Rouge Country Club for providing me the opportunity six years ago to be their Head Professional.” In recognition of his continued efforts to grow the game of Bobby Jacks golf at the youth level, Greystone Golf and Country Club Director of Golf Chris Burkstaller has been awarded the 2019 Gulf States PGA Youth Player Development Award. This award acknowledges the recipient's passion to promote the game by sharing knowledge and skills with today's youth, benefiting the future of golf in the GSPGA. V.J.Trolio (PGA Teaching Professional at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss.) earned his fourth GSPGA Teacher of the Year Award.This award recognizes the recipient's exceptional teaching ability and dedication to teaching the game.
