All three games will be played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and televised by ESPN. The first bowl game of the season (R+L Carriers Bowl) will feature Appalachian State verses UAB. Alabama-Birmingham (9-4) team that won the Conference USA West Division, but fell to Florida International in the conference’s championship game. The UAB defense statistically is ranked ninth in the nation overall in yards allowed (107.2 yards rushing and 186.8 yards passing). Appalachian State (12-1) won the Sun Belt East and overall crown with a victory over Sun Belt West champion Louisiana-Lafayette. The only set back for the Mountaineers this season was a three-point Halloween loss to Georgia Southern. Appalachian State opened up as a 16.5-point favorite in this game. The first day of 2020 will feature four bowl games with the Allstate Sugar Bowl being the last one of the day. That game features an interesting matchup of Georgia vs. Baylor. Both schools won their respective divisions, but lost their conference championship games. Both are ranked inside the top 7 with Baylor at seventh and Georgia ranked fifth. The 7:45 pm kickoff will feature a Bears team that averaged over 35 points per game against a Bulldog defense that didn’t allow any regular-season opponents more than 17 points and had three shutouts. While Georgia did give up a season-high 37 points to LSU in the SEC Championship Game, that was 10 points lower than the Tigers’ season average. The Bulldogs opened up as a 7.5-point favorite. The College Football season will end in New Orleans when the College Football Playoff National Champion Game will crown a champion on Jan. 13. Kickoff is set for 7 pm and the game will feature either LSU or Oklahoma State against either Ohio State or Clemson. The two semifinal games of the College Football Playoff are Dec. 28. 2019-2020 TEE TO GREEN GOLF MAGAZINE BOWL DIRECTORY  Page 2

Bayou Oaks at City Park South Course is state’s newest New Orleans’ City Park has a rich history dating back to the 1800s. It was first opened as a city park in 1854 with the city of taking ownership of the property in 1850. Currently there are two golf courses in City Park and a two-story driving range. Before Hurricane Katrina brought its destruction on New Orleans, City Park was home to four courses (South, North, East and West). The facility played host to many PGA Tour events from 1938-1962. Restored and re-established in 2017, the South Course features 18 holes of championship golf designed by renowned architect Rees Jones. Sitting on over 200 acres, the South Course measures between 5,054 and 7,302 yards. The South Course features multiple tee off locations in order to accommodate players of all skill levels. The state-of-the-art clubhouse features Filmore in the Oaks, which is a full-service bar and restaurant with an impressive food and drink menu. It is a great compliment to New Orleans’ only 36-hole facility. For the bowl season, there is a $79 special (plus tax) that includes green fees and cart fees. Rental clubs are available for $50 plus tax. If you are going to play two rounds during your stay in New Orleans, the North Course is across the street from the clubhouse just next to the driving range. Fees for the riding 18 holes at the North Course are $34-$36. Originally opened in 1969 and shut down for three years because of Katrina, the North Course is shorter (4,300-5,740 yards) but does offer a challenge.Water comes into play on eight of the 18 holes.
