Although severely impacted throughout the season by covid, it was great to get the season completed which resulted in our C grade netballers being crowned premiers. Congratulations to all involved. Unfortunately, we have been again ravished by floods. We are becoming accustomed to this and once again our amazing community came together in assisting with the preparation and clean up where the repairs will continue for a number of months. We recently held our Annual General meeting where we came together to celebrate our 150th birthday which I am sure will continue to be celebrated over the next twelve months. We welcome, Gary Daly, Ben Coghlan, Chris Robinson, Rachel Maes and Jeromy Coghlan to the committee for the new season and thank Scott Howell who departs the committee for his commitment to the committee and club over many years. Scott will not be lost however and will still be around volunteering where he can. We have locked away our coaching structure for 2023 in all grades of football and netball and wish you all well in your respective roles. Recruiting is going well and we look forwarded to welcoming many new families to the club over coming months and thank those that are departing for their services. On behalf of the club can I wish everyone a happy and safe Christmas and New Year with your family and friends and I hope everyone enjoys their offseason and we all look forward to coming together in 2023 in what I am sure will be a fun filled and successful year at the club. F Floods devestate Avoca Public Park Floodwaters recently devastated the Avoca Public Park leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. The flood waters made it one foot into the clubrooms which damaged our carpeting and air conditioning units and also knocked over our oval fencing and our perimeter fencing. Adversity usually brings community together and we wish to thank everyone that pitched in and helped Sandbag the facility before the flood hit, and to those that helped to pull all of the carpet up after the event. How good was it to see dual premiership coach’s Phil Canny and Andrew Panther attend our working Bee! We also are appreciative to the footballers that entered the facility immediately after the event to sweep the muddy water out of the facility so that the mud did not settle. Thank you to all!
