The girls tennis team established itself as a great team in the spring of ’75. After starting slow, by losing their first three matches, they came back to win their next eight matches. A final record of 9-4 proved to be the best in Prairie’s history. Seniors, Julie Jansa and Jeanine Halva, sparked the team’s success. The two teamed up to go undefeated throughout the duel season. In districts they captured the doubles crown, enabling Prairie to take second place in the team totals. Julie and Jeanine then took fourth place in the state meet the next week in Sioux City. A satisfying season and a promising future will be with the girls tennis team forever. A well pleased coach! WOW! Fourth in the state! Keep smiling! 120
