Parker Junior High parker press Super-Car By: Jacob Beal Do you think the BMW M8 competition is a supercar? The Bmw M8 in my eyes is very much a supercar. The M8 competition is a not-so-popular supercar. It has a twin-turbo v8 with 617 horsepower. It puts the power down to all 4 wheels and with a switch of a button the back two. This beautiful car comes in 3 different body styles. Cabriolet,(convertible) coupe,(2 door) gran coupe,(4 door). The reason why people say this is because the M8 competition doesn’t have a crazy price tag like other supercars. though it is extremely expensive it doesn’t compare to its competitors ($134,100). Unlike the Audi R8 with a ($158,600) price tag, or the McLaren 570s with a ($195,000) price tag. This leads me to the following reasons. The Bmw M8 speed is something else. The 0-60 mph time is 2.5 seconds according to car and driver magazine. Comparing that to the Audi R8(3.4) and McLarens(3.1). Aside from acceleration, the top speed is where it lacks.
