CHAPTER ONE The question of who a virtuous woman is, and has been a resounding one in the past, and contemporary times. However, why would scripture place emphasis on the need for every man to find a virtuous woman? This question not many people are able to answer. The character of every virtuous woman makes the marital journey beautiful, inspiring and effortless. Virtue is found in the state of the heart, and just like virtuous women, so do virtuous men too exist, although the focus of this book is on the virtuous woman. Each virtuous woman is holistic and complete in the character that builds them, and the distinction between them from the rest of the women is that they possess what other women do not. A woman, lady or girl may ask, is it possible for me to become a virtuous woman? The answer is YES, it is possible. Firstly, it is important to understand why God created woman. GENESIS 2:18 says, “Now the Lord God said, It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper MEET (suitable, adapted, complementary) for him.” This therefore calls for man to firstly understand himself, then he will be able to find a virtuous woman meet for him.
