PINK RIBBON DANCE & GOLF TOURNAMENT By Lydia Fichtman October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Lake Ashton is once again going all out. Mark your calendars for October 13 and November 9. This year’s dance and golf tournament are being sponsored by Lake Ashton Golf Management, and all funds raised will be donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation of Central Florida. The mission of this organization is to ease financial worries of local, Central Florida breast cancer patients and their families. While a patient is in active treatment the foundation’s financial assistance program helps patients with non-medical financial expenses such as rent, mortgage payments, utility bills, car repairs, car payments, gas for treatment travel, and/or daycare costs. In addition, there is a children’s fund that provides financial compensation for each child in the household upon initial application approval and during the holidays. The dance will be held on Sunday evening, October 13 from 7 to 10 pm at the HFC. An LA resident, George, will DJ. BYOB and food! Decorate your tables! GET YOUR PINK ON! Tablecloths will be provided. Tickets go on sale at the HFC beginning September 1. You may reserve a table for $10. Advance ticket purchases are $10 per person and $15 at the door the night of the dance. 100% of all tickets will go to the foundation! November 9 is the Pink Ribbon Golf Tournament. In 2022, Lake Ashton donated just over $47,000 to the Watson Clinic Foundation through sponsors, donations, silent auctions and registrations. Lake Ashton would like to meet or exceed that goal this year. All Lake Ashton registered golfers may sign up at the Pro Shop beginning September 15. You may sign up as a foursome, a pair or individually. Beginning October 6, guests of Lake Ashton golf members may register if there is space available. The Member fee is $45 and the Member Guest fee is $75 which includes a round of golf, lunch and a donation to BCFCF. Sponsorships are available from $50 to $1,000. Interested sponsors can download a form from the Lake Ashton website. Thank you to all who have already donated. Volunteers are also needed for the golf tournament. If you are not golfing, and willing to help, please contact Lydia Fichtman (215-290-9375) or Rita Lee (484- 431-4243). Your help will be essential to the success of the event.
