Floridians, however, can easily be affected by what is referred to as a “season within the season,” or peak hurricane season which normally occurs around the middle of September. There is also another Florida’s sales tax holiday for hurricane supplies, until September 6. The Dukes, a popular band from the Orlando area, will be shaking it up with 50s and 60s music on September 13 at the HFC. Not into dancing, well how about a new fitness routine? Be sure to plan on being at the Meet and Greet for Clinton, a personal trainer and certified exercise guru, who is affiliated with Just Move, a new and innovative health club in Winter Haven. Save the date: September 27 at 6:00 pm at the HFC. The overall renovation project of the HFC’s indoor pool could not have been accomplished without the assistance of Lake Ashton volunteers Richard Cronin, Charles Mutz and Shelba Powell, as well as Richard Palone, a maintenance employee at the HFC. Thank you to Carolyn Bishop, Peter Corriveau, Tom Roche and Jeri Trakes for reinstalling the volleyball net and to Sandy White for putting up the flags. We would also like to acknowledge Lynn Davis and Kathi Eustice for maintaining the live plants seen in the pool area. Kathi also took care of the plants during the pool renovation and oversees their overall care. We sincerely appreciate the time and effort of each person involved. A special thanks also to Lake Ashton residents for your patience during the pools closure. The RFID registration program begins this month with a start date of September 10, continuing through the remainder of the year or until all LA residents have their automobile RFID decals. Residents are encouraged to watch for emails listing their street addresses which identifies a specific day they are to report to either the Clubhouse or HFC to receive their automobile(s) RFID decal. Make-up days will also be scheduled to accommodate LA residents that have appointments or are out of state and unable to register on their original scheduled date. The CDDII monthly meeting will move from Friday to Thursday, beginning in the month of September. Please note residents are given two opportunities to speak during the CDD meeting, at the beginning, or should you wish to discuss something not on the agenda please fill out a “Request to Speak” form enabling you to speak at the end of the meeting. The next CDDII HOA meeting will take place on September 25, and residents may wish to note ARC requests are to be made online at arctracker.com/lakeashton2.
