TRADITIONAL MODERN CONTEMPORAR Rules reminder from golf pro Ian Peterson: Nothing can be more aggravating than an out-of-bounds golf shot, and often the OB rule can be subject to interpretation. To clarify the rule and the Lake Ashton options, take note of Ian’s guidance in the following narrative: Remember your ball is out of bounds only when all of the ball lies outside the boundary edge of the golf course. When that happens, here are your choices: Option 1 – Stroke and Distance: Replay the shot from the original spot for a One-Stroke Penalty. Option 2 – Stroke and Distance Local Rule: Determine where your ball went out of bounds and drop your ball on the edge of the fairway just behind an equal distance from the hole for a Two-Stroke Penalty.
