JEWISH HIGH HOLIDAY SERVICES By David Harrison The Lake Ashton community is invited to attend the Jewish High Holiday services. Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) will be Friday, September 15 at 7 pm in the HFC Community Room. Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) will be Sunday, September 24 at 7 pm in the HFC Community Room. Yizkor (Memorial Service) will be Monday, September 25 at 2 pm in the HFC Community Room. All residents are encouraged to attend and find out why the New Year is celebrated in September. For more information, contact David Harrison at 863-326-6418. KARAOKE NIGHT September 13 brings another great night of singing, fellowship, and friendship at Karaoke! Tickets are on sale now at the Clubhouse Activities Office for $5. Next Date: October 11 PETS ON PARADE By Carolyn Bishop Save the Date: Tuesday, October 31 at 2 pm in the Clubhouse Parking Lot. Come out and enjoy some of Lake Ashton’s favorite residents – the 422 legged ones — as they parade through the parking lot in their best Halloween Costumes. There will be a variety of categories awarded to our fur friends and their owners. Stay tuned to media for more details. Registration will be online when the date gets closer. Donations to our local Humane Soc i e t y wi l l be collected at this event. Goodie bags will be distributed to all the participants. Celebrity Judges will be present like Marco Magiolo, the bestselling author of Canine Legends and talented Behavior Therapist to many of our Canine Citizens here in Lake Ashton. TRIVIA By David Fix Trivia continues to be enjoyed by Lake Ashton residents who turn out regularly for an evening of fun. Play begins in the Clubhouse at 7 pm and finishes around 8:30 pm on September 3 and 10 this month. Teams are not required and you can come join an open table looking for players. The cost is $1 per person to play with all money being returned to the winning tables. Come early, brings snacks and socialize with neighbors.
