LA GETAWAYS By Judy Goldetsky By Brenda Lee Food for People • Herbs for Flavor • Flowers for Pollinators • Community for All The Community Garden’s regular meetings resume this month! Mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 21, at 1:30 pm in the HFC Craft Room. September was all about seeds! Rachel guided us through two seedplanting gatherings, and some participants even took home their own “Garden to Go.” Now we are heading into our growing season. Cooler weather is just around the corner, making garden duties a little more comfortable, and we think the plants will appreciate it, too! We’re excited about what’s ahead: guest speakers, Garden Circles, new ideas, and opportunities to build both new and longtime friendships. All are welcome to join this ever-evolving group of garden enthusiasts. Come grow with us! “The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature.” — Alfred Austin Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2027 kickoff meeting of Lake Ashton Getaways on September 30.
