LA CLUBS ROCKERS By MJ Richards LA Rockers invite you to visit us at our fundraiser during the Craft Fair on October 24 from 9 am to 2 pm in the Clubhouse to support our mission of spreading kindness throughout Lake Ashton by hiding rocks and welcoming new neighbors with a welcome rock. Proceeds from the fundraiser will help us purchase supplies and support service projects. We have already completed quite a few projects this year, including pocket hug rocks, the Interactive Rock Garden, patriotic rocks for the 250th celebration and the Good Neighbor Social. We meet twice a month on the first and third Wednesdays. The third Wednesday is an orientation for those who would like to give rock painting a try, and we provide everything you need for your first time. If you are interested in exploring this fun group and spreading kindness, regardless of your artistic ability, contact MJ at mjmrichards517@gmail.com by Monday, October 5. LAPAC INFORMATIONAL MEETING By Terri McDuff LAPAC is gearing up for our 2027 Showcase sr March 19 and 20, and we’re inviting Lake Ashton residents to help make this next production shine. Our showcase is built by neighbors who bring their creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm to every part of the process whether it is onstage or behind the scenes. If you enjoy singing, dancing, acting, crafting costumes, building sets, organizing props, helping with tech, or simply lending a cheerful hand, we’d love to have you join us. No experience required, just a willingness to be part of a fun, collaborative community project. Join us for our Informational Meeting on Thursday, October 29, from 1 to 3 pm in the Clubhouse Ballroom to learn how you can get involved and what roles are available. Email Lapacboard@gmail.com or call Terri McDuff at 916-201-7745 with questions. 32 LA FRIENDS OF MEALS ON WHEELS By Marcia Santino Get ready, Lake Ashton! LA BLACK HERITAGE CLUB By Pamela June LABHC enriches the Lake Ashton community through cultural awareness, social connection, and meaningful service. The primary objective is to promote awareness of African American culture within Lake Ashton. Members explore American history from an African American perspective, by delving into the experiences, achievements, and enduring legacy of African Americans. In celebrating past and present accomplishments, LABHC fosters appreciation for the role African Americans have played in American history. Equally important is the second objective to provide a social and cultural outlet for Lake Ashton residents. Through engaging programs, discussions, and activities, LABHC creates opportunities for fellowship, learning, and community building. Lastly, LABHC embraces a spirit of service. Members work collectively to support underprivileged people in Winter Haven and Lake Wales. This outreach reflects the club’s dedication to compassion and uplifting those in need.
