Applications are also available at the Pro Shop desk and in the Niners folder beside the Niners Bulletin Board outside the Ladies Rest Room. All ladies are welcome to join, including new golfers. Opening Day of the Niner’s 2025 – 2026 Season will be celebrated October 7 at the Eagles Nest after a fun round of golf. A high spirited Football Tailgate will be the theme of the luncheon celebration. Members are welcome to show their team spirit by wearing the athletic gear of your favorite Little League, High School, College or Professional Player/ Team. Fun games, prizes and giveaways for everyone! October games will be: October 7: Par 3 Scramble – This will be a regular 4person scramble, teeing off from the orange flags. (team game) October 14: Individual Low Putts – Lowest number of putts in flight wins. (individual game) October 21: Shamble 2 Best Nets – Every player hits a tee shot, best ball is selected, everyone plays their own ball from there. 2 best nets are the team score. (team game) October 28: Throw Out 2 – Throw out the two worst holes at the end of the round. Low Gross/Low Net scores win. Ask for details. 46 LALGA By Beverly Hines With October comes fall, and with fall comes the return of many Lake Ashton residents. Safe travels and welcome back. October represents the joy of pumpkin patches and fall decorations, and the overall sense of some of the best time of year for outdoor activities in Florida. October is also the last month of the LALGA’s fiscal year. LALGA is an 18hole ladies golf league. Annual dues of $35 are due on or before November 1. The registration form will be sent via email to members or it is available on the LALGA website at https://lakeashtonliving.com/ community/golf/lalga. Dues are payable by check only to LALGA and may be turned in with a completed registration form to the Pro Shop or mailed to Kathy Reed, LALGA treasurer. To compete in LALGA events, you must be a member of LALGA and you must have an established handicap. New members who have paid their dues but do not have an established handicap, may play in LALGA events but will not be eligible for prize money until her handicap is established. Ladies who are Lake Ashton Golf Club Members but do not belong to LALGA may play a two-round maximum trial period without joining. The LALGA day of play is Tuesday with a 9am shotgun start. The league would welcome any new members. New members are assigned a league member as their mentor to help them feel welcome and familiarize them with league procedures. Ladies, come join the fun and play some golf! October Games: October 7: East, Individual Play, Flighted; Oct 14, West, Team Play – 4-Person Scramble with lunch to follow play; Oct 21, Pick Your Partner Team Play; October 28 & 29: LAMGA – LALGA Shirts and Skirts Tournament. Day 1: 2 net Shamble; Day 2: Scramble with lunch to follow. Pairings will be picked by Pro Shop. $25 includes prizes and lunch (chili dogs with all the fixings).
