HOWL-O-WEEN PETS ON PARADE COSTUME CONTEST By Carolyn Bishop Come out and enjoy some of Lake Ashton’s favorite residents — the 4legged ones — as they parade through the parking lot in their best Halloween Costumes on October 31 starting at 2 pm. Check-in will begin at 1:30 on the basketball court and the parade begins at 2 pm in the Clubhouse West Parking Lot. There will be a variety of categories awarded to our fur friends and their owners. Registration is online. Donations to the local Humane Society will be collected at this event. Goodie bags will be distributed to all the participants. Celebrity Judges will be present like Marco Magiolo, the bestselling author of Canine Legends and talented Behavior Therapist to many of our Canine Citizens here in Lake Ashton. Don’t miss a special guest appearance by Marco on Monday, October 30, as he makes a presentation at noon in the Clubhouse Cinema! All are welcome. If you haven’t yet had a chance to join us, please consider doing so. It is a night of fun and socialization. Teams are not required and you can bring a team (maximum of 8 per table) or join an open table looking for players to join them. It’s just $1 to play and all money is paid to the winning tables. We play Sunday night in the Clubhouse Ballroom. Doors open at 6 pm and trivia starts at 7. Bring your own snacks and come for the fun! Dates for October: 1, 8, and 22. LA WOODWORKERS YARD & CRAFT SALE FUNDRAISER Come support the Lake Ashton Woodworkers at a Yard & Craft Sale on November 4 from 8 am to 2 pm in the Clubhouse. Cost to participate is $20 per table. Setup is 5 to 7 pm on November 3. The Woodworkers will have items on display that you can purchase to support the Woodshop. To reserve your table call Shelba Powell at 863-280-6546. COMMUNITY FRIENDSGIVING Friends and neighbors can gather with thankful hearts at the Community Friends-giving potluck dinner at the Clubhouse on November 17 at 6 pm. Turkey, stuffing, gravy, non-alcoholic beverages, cutlery, plates, and napkins will be provided; you just bring a side dish or dessert that can feed 8 people to share with the community. Tickets go on sale on October 9 for $12 online or at the Clubhouse Activities Office at 10 am. HOME IMPROVEMENT EXPO Lake Ashton residents are invited to the Clubhouse Ballroom to visit with a wide variety of vendors who can aid in home improvement needs on November 29 from 10 am to 1 pm. The vendors participating in the Expo range in expertise such as solar paneling, windows, air conditioning, house cleaning, electrical and so much more. There will be door prizes and presentations throughout the event. RESIDENT SOCIAL POTLUCK The best way to get to know new people is over a good meal! All residents are invited to bring a dish to share that best represents where they are from, whether that be Brazil or Montana, to a free potluck social on November 29 at 5 pm in the Clubhouse Ballroom. Just be sure your dish can serve eight people. Iced tea, water, paper products, and utensils will be provided. Sign up for the social online or at the Clubhouse Activities Office by November 27. 26
