2023 SHOWCASE INFORMATIONAL MEETING By Karen Nelson 2023 must be near - Lake Ashton Performing Arts Corporation's informational meeting for the 2023 Showcase is scheduled for November 3 at 1 pm in the Clubhouse Ballroom. This meeting is open to all LA residents — bring your vocal, dance, comedy, carpentry, sewing, production, backstage, box office, audio, lighting … and more ... talents, or learn or discover hidden talents! Learn what the excitement is about! P.S. - the 2023 Showcase itself will be on March 24 and 25, 2023, so save these dates too! LAKE ASHTON VETERANS ASSOCIATION USO DANCE By Jim Mecsics, LAVA Commander ATTENTION IN THE CAMP! ATTENTION IN THE CAMP! All Lake Ashton residents are requested to “muster’ at the Health and Fitness Center Ballroom on November 4 at 1900 hrs. (that’s 7 PM in civilian time) for an evening of excellent music, dancing, snacks and a chance to mingle with your Lake Ashton community neighbors for a great time. Music will be provided by Good Stuff band. There will be complementary snacks, and you will be able to bring your own refreshments and drinks. Tickets go on sale October 17 and can be purchased at either Activities Desks (checks only). Tickets are $10 with the proceeds going to support the Lake Ashton Veterans Association programs. You do not need to be a veteran to join us as everyone is welcome to enjoy a nostalgic trip to the USO Dance Days. CALLING ALL CRAFTERS! The LA Purple Stars, your Relay For Life Team, will be sponsoring a booth selling hand crafted items at the December 14 Lake Ashton Bi-Monthly Market. 100% of the proceeds of all donated items sold will go to the American Cancer Society. Items are needed to fill the booth. If you have a craft you enjoy, please consider making one to donate, and share this info with your crafty friends. There are a limited amount of supplies available to share if needed. The Purple Stars will also be contacting businesses in the area, asking for donations.
