BOLLA By Linda Warden BOLLA has been busy throughout the summer and fall. So far this year, we have delivered 600 blankets, 105 ponchos and 30 hats to help children in crisis. We continue to meet every Monday at 1 pm in the Craft Room at the Clubhouse, and everyone is welcome to join us. No sewing experience is necessary! We have also begun planning for our every-otheryear Trash to Treasures Sale, which will be held March 5-6, 2027. All proceeds from the sale are used to purchase fabric so we can continue our mission of helping children in crisis. Questions about the Trash to Treasures Sale can be directed to Barb Aull, Chairwoman, at 973-670-2708. CAMERA CLUB By Larry Hillock The Lake Ashton Camera Club will meet Monday, November 16 at 10:30 am in the Clubhouse Cinema. We strive to make every meeting a learning experience while sharing our enjoyment of photography. Everyone is encouraged to bring a USB drive with a few photos to share. Lake Ashton residents interested in photography are invited to attend. LA FRIENDS OF MEALS ON WHEELS By Marcia Santino The 2026 LOFOMOW Club fundraiser is in full swing through November 13! Here are just a few of the hundreds of Meals on Wheels Polk (MOWPolk) recipients who benefit from your generous donations. We’ll award 68 prizes in our monthlong raffle on November 13, and there’s still time to purchase tickets! Check the Monday morning email blasts for weekly ticket sales locations. 39 Another fun way to support this cause is to attend the World Kindness Day Dance on November 13 in the Clubhouse Ballroom, featuring music by the Tony “Motown” Knight Band. See the ad in this issue’s Events section for details. A huge thank-you to our sponsors, Weikert Ford and Small World Tours! Thanks to their support, 100% of your donations go directly to MOWPolk. Our next Third Thursday Donations Day is December 16. LAVA AUXILIARY By Lori Thomas Join the Lake Ashton Veterans Association (LAVA) Auxiliary: A Giving Spirit is All It Takes! The Lake Ashton Veterans Association (LAVA) Auxiliary is dedicated to supporting local veterans and activeduty service members. We are looking for new volunteers who want to make a difference in our community. You do not need to have a family connection to the military to join the LAVA Auxiliary! We welcome neighbors who have a giving spirit, a love for our country, an appreciation for our freedoms and genuine respect for those who have served and continue to serve. The LAVA Auxiliary meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Clubhouse Cinema. The Auxiliary organizes community initiatives, including the annual LAVA Auxiliary Craft Fair at the Clubhouse, which raises funds for organizations such as Soldiers' Freedom Outdoors, helping veterans heal. By sharing your time and talents, you can help us support those who have made tremendous sacrifices in service to our nation. Whether you enjoy event planning, hospitality or administrative tasks, there is a place for you in our Auxiliary. Join us to connect with wonderful neighbors and show your support for our veterans!
