The first Sunday of each month is reserved for a business meeting, followed by cards, usually Five Crowns. Often, members head out to dinner together afterward. There were 21 singles who attended the most recent meeting! The club decided to adopt eight Senior Orphans and provide Christmas gifts for them this year. Caseworkers will share the recipients’ Santa wish lists, which members will fulfill to help make the holidays brighter. Members also discussed future activities, including visits to local restaurants and area attractions. All Lake Ashton singles are welcome to join us! PEBBLES & PINES SOCIAL CLUB By Jill Groves Residents enjoyed a w o n d e r f u l evening at the September 28 Good Neighbor Social at HFC. They mingled with neighbors, discovered others who had moved to Florida from the same states, made new friends, and enjoyed delicious food. A special highlight was choosing a Good Neighbor Rock, lovingly painted by the LA Rockers, and sharing simple ways to be a good neighbor. Beautiful handmade centerpieces, generously donated by the Community Garden Club, and live African violet plants donated by the Garden Club added a special touch to the evening. With new friendships, shared ideas, and plenty of smiles, the event was a wonderful reminder that Lake Ashton is a community filled with good neighbors!
