LAVA CLUBS AUXILIARY By Chris Graves Join the LAVA Auxiliary Tuesday, November 11 for coffee and doughnuts in the Ballroom following the Veterans Day ceremony at the Veterans Memorial. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and thank those who have served our country. Tickets are free! Check your email or visit the kiosk in the Main Clubhouse for registration and ticket information. Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the Cinema. Stop by, meet new friends, and see what we’re all about! As I write this, the Craft Fair is just around the corner and I already know it will be a success! The generosity and enthusiasm shown by our neighbors, staff, and Charm City have been incredible. We’ll share final totals and details soon about the donation to K9 Partners for Patriots. God Bless America, and especially our military and veterans! HEARTFELT HUGS By MJ Richards Heartfelt Hugs is a group here different from most groups or clubs in Lake Ashton. We never meet as a group. Instead, we crochet or knit baby blankets and hats at home and at our leisure for needy babies. We also donate newborn blankets for mothers who lose their babies either at birth or too early in the pregnancy, so they have something to take home with them after they have held their babies. In the past three years of our existence, we have donated over 400 blankets! Many of us love to create items but have no one to give them to as gifts. All you have to do is make some blankets, hats or even lap blankets and shawls for the elderly and drop them off at my house. My husband and I deliver them! If you are interested in this relaxing and very rewarding activity, please email mjmrichards517@gmail.com. The Magic Years Club, which is open to all Disney lovers and those who want to learn a little more about Disney, had its meeting October 13. After catching up on what everyone did this summer and talking about some of the upcoming new rides/events at WDW, our members participated in a challenging Disney trivia quiz to earn a prize. The team of Jeffrey and Michele Meuser were the overall winners with 33 out of 36 points! Luckily there were enough prizes for every team to win one. Would you have known the answer to the question: What was Dory's iconic phrase in the movie Finding Nemo? (Answer: “Just keep swimmin’.") It was nice to welcome some new members, and I would be remiss if I didn't thank Debbie and Pat Rapp for hosting September's meeting. November's meeting will be held on Monday, November 10 at 7 pm in the HFC Craft Room. We welcome all newcomers! Questions? Call Lynne Judd at 631-987-3230. LA BELLES By Tammy Shields Ladies of Lake Ashton — come join us for "tea" and lunch at Sweet Magnolia's Tea Bistro in Auburndale (212 Howard St.). The November/December holiday date is Wednesday, November 19 at noon. There will be a cap of 33 at this venue, so be sure to sign up early. We are encouraging everyone to wear "tea party hats," to add to the fun, but of course this is not a requirement of being able to attend. Sign up online, and if you have any questions, please call Tammy Shields at 863-632-2024. (Also being hosted by Carole Erickson and Julie Janele.) 30 MAGIC YEARS CLUB By Lynne Judd
