LACDD NEWS By Christine Wells, LA (LW) CDD Community Director Joyful conversations have been filling the Clubhouse as year-round residents reunite with seasonal travelers. With the population at Lake Ashton increasing residents should be mindful of changes in traffic. Many residents are out and about enjoying the cooler temps and lower humidity and should be able to do so in a safe environment. The time change on November 3 will bring darkness earlier than past months. Be sure to be prepared and wear reflective clothing or bring a flashlight along if walking at dusk or later. Supervisors and Staff would like to wish Residents a Happy Thanksgiving. Don't forget to stop by the Clubhouse Foyer to add what you are thankful for to our "Thankful Board". In this edition of the LA Times, residents will find many opportunities to celebrate the upcoming holidays and give back to the communities surrounding Lake Ashton. Be sure you get your tickets to the Thanksgiving Community Potluck, support Alzheimer's research by joining Team Sam in the Walk to End Alzheimer's, and donate to The Mission of Winter Haven and the Lake Wales Care Center November 1 — 15 for the annual food drive. Residents will also note that many clubs are resuming monthly meetings. Stop by the Activities Office and see Caroline to get more info on how to join some of the clubs advertised. All Clubs are open to all residents. If your experience is anything other than that please contact Christine at cwells@lakeashtoncdd.com. Supervisors and Staff are thankful for all of the facilitators and want to ensure all residents are welcomed by the leaders and members of the active 280 clubs, whether they just moved here or have lived at Lake Ashton 20 years. Supervisors did not meet in October. The next Board of Supervisors meeting is November 18 at 9 am in the Clubhouse Ballroom. Residents are encouraged to attend CDD meetings to get first hand information on what's going on in the community, projects that are being considered, and issues that are being discussed. Visit lakeashtoncdd.com to view the agenda packets which are posted 1 week prior to the meeting. Residents can contact me via email at cwells@lakeashtoncdd.com with any questions regarding the approved fiscal year 2025 budget or how to access information regarding CDD agendas, meeting minutes and more. Supervisors and Staff want Residents to be informed regarding what is going on in their community. When using an RFID tag, please be sure to move slowly past the stop sign until the green light illuminates on the RFID reader and the gate opens. If you do not have your remote or a RFID tag, you should go to the visitors side to be processed. Please be prepared to show your driver's license. Residents and visitors who hit the gate arms at the entrances to Lake Ashton may be charged the full replacement value of the gate arm in addition to any repairs to the operators, as needed. Please use caution and do not tailgate. The gates are set to close after each vehicle so tailgating could result in a costly mistake. 8
