FOOD DRI VE NOV. 1 - 1 5 Food donations for the Mission of Winter Haven and the Lake Wales Care Center will be collected from November 1 - 15. Drop off donations to the Clubhouse Ballroom Kitchen, Monday through Friday from 9 am to noon. Let's help our surrounding neighbors in need this holiday season. GIVING TUESDAY DEC. 3 There is so much to be thankful for and so many blessings to count! In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, consider giving to the many organizations supported by Lake Ashton Clubs, as identified in this edition of the LA Times. Giving doesn't always involve money or tangible items. The gift of time is most often the most valuable. LA HANDS 4 HOPE HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE By Nancy Rudy & Sophia Brennan We have much to be grateful for, especially over these last few weeks. Others have not been as fortunate. LA Hands 4 Hope offers assistance to children and families in Polk County who otherwise may be overwhelmed, overlooked and vulnerable to poverty. For the past four years, LA Hands 4 Hope has sponsored toy drives to help needy families during the holiday season. Last year we donated over 500 toys to the Sheriff’s Department to be distributed to children in Polk County, including children whose parents are incarcerated or in rehab. We are once again collecting toys for the Sheriff’s Department and other entities around Polk County. We want to help make the holidays special for children. We at Lake Ashton can help by dropping off new toys, only at the Clubhouse beginning Nov. 1st. through Dec. 12th. Toys are to be new, and unwrapped for ages infant through 18. Located in the Clubhouse Ballroom will be a tree and a special drop off station for all donations. Assisting LA Hands 4 Hope is the perfect way to help make the holidays merry and bright for children. Please help! For additional information or monetary donations please contact Debby Landgrebe 863-268-8192. Thank you. JACK DAVENPORT DEDICAT ION The Clubhouse Fitness Center was ded i ca t ed to Jack Davenpor t on September 26, 2024. Pictured, Betty Davenport and family chose the perfect spot near Jack's favorite machine, the recumbent stepper. Soon a picture will be added to this location to complete the dedication. We hope that fond memories and stories about Jack carry on for years to come. When you see the plaque and picture in the Fitness Center our hope is that you remember Jack's infectious smile and remember all the great things he did for Lake Ashton. 16
