EVENTS 2023 SHOWCASE INFORMATIONAL MEETING By Karen Nelson 2023 must be near - Lake Ashton Performing Arts Corporation's informational meeting for the 2023 Showcase is scheduled for November 3 at 1 pm in the Clubhouse Ballroom. This meeting is open to all LA residents — bring your vocal, dance, comedy, carpentry, sewing, production, backstage, box office, audio, lighting … and more ... talents, or learn or discover hidden talents! Learn what the excitement is about! P.S. - the 2023 Showcase itself will be on March 24 and 25, 2023, so save these dates too! LAVA USO DANCE By Jim Mecsics, LAVA Commander Lake Ashton residents are requested to “muster’ at the Health and Fitness Center Ballroom on November 4 at 1900 hrs (7 PM in civilian time) for an evening of excellent music, dancing, snacks and a chance to mingle with your neighbors for a great time. Music will be provided by Good Stuff band. There will be complimentary snacks, and you can bring your own refreshments and drinks. Tickets are on sale at both Activities Desks (check only) for $10, with the proceeds going to support the Lake Ashton Veterans Association programs. You do not need to be a veteran to join as everyone is welcome to enjoy a nostalgic trip to the USO Dance Days. VETERANS DAY CEREMONY There will be a LAVA Veterans Day Observance at the Veterans Memorial at 10 am on November 11. All residents are invited to attend this ceremony. NOVEMBER 9 6 - 9 PM CARRABBAS DINNER FOR 2 Carrabba’s will be offering two delicious Dinner for 2 options (see menu below) and you will have the choice of taking your meal to go or eating in the Ballroom on November 9 at 5 pm. Place your orders by 3 pm on November 8 by calling 863-293-6635.
