LA DEMOCRATIC CLUB By Shelley Miller The Lake Ashton Democratic Club is holding their monthly meeting November 4 via Zoom and inperson at the HFC. Social time with snacks runs from 4 to 4:30 pm. Please bring your own beverage. The General meeting and Zoom will start at 4:30. The first episode of the Netflix series “Whose Vote Counts Explained” will be shown. LAKE ASHTON GARDEN CLUB By Lynn Davis Lake Ashton Garden Club will meet on Tuesday, November 16th in the Pavillion. This meeting is an important opportunity for new and existing members to provide input and suggestions for future topics, speakers and field trips. The club is dedicated on learning, collaborating, and sharing best practices in gardening . Bring ideas! GENEOLOGY CLUB By Jane Imparl The Genealogy Club has made some exciting discoveries lately! Come join to find your exciting discoveries as well. Next meeting is Wednesday, November 10 at 2 pm in the HFC Craft Room. All levels of expertise are welcome and snacks are provided. For more information, call Jane at 815-545-6655. INTRODUCTION TO CHESS By Gina Krall The Chess Club will be presenting an Introduction to Chess class, taught by Howard Mayne. Participants will gather around the outdoor chess board at the Clubhouse on December 3 at 1 pm while Howard explains how the pieces move and gives an introduction to the game. LA ROCS & PEBBLES POTLUCK By Amity Kokochak The next LA ROCS (Riviera, Oakmont, Colonial and Sawgrass) and “Pebbles” (6016 – 6048 Pebble Beach Blvd.) Social will be held on November 12 at 6 pm in the HFC Community Room. It will be a potluck dinner so please bring an entrée, salad, side dish or dessert large enough to serve 8 people. NO need to let me know what you are going to bring — just your favorite recipe or your specialty! Please bring your own plates, napkins, silverware and beverage. Great way to meet and greet your neighbors and friends and enjoy some great food! This will be the last one for 2021 so let’s make it a fun evening! The next meeting is November 2. Due to an increase of members monthly meetings were moved to 3 pm in the HFC Community Center. The Magic Years Club is open to all Lake Ashton residents who enjoy learning about and going to Disney World. Not all activities require park tickets. Looking forward to our upcoming monthly events, so please come to the meeting for more information. There are quite a few new members, and veteran members are always available to help with any questions you have. SINGLES GROUP By Maureen Ziegler LA Singles is a social group that plans activities for single residents. The group meets monthly on the first Sunday of the month at 2 pm in the Clubhouse Ballroom. In October, the singles discussed several outings and opportunities for social activities. The group has adopted ten seniors for Christmas this
