GOLF LA NINERS By Diane Struble LAMGA By Paul Fichtman Opening Day, October 5, dawned sunny with a cool breeze and a hint of excitement in the air. Members gathered at the Golf House parking lot for announcements, gifts, and plenty of group pictures. The promise of a great lunch with a delicious dessert was waiting after completing the four-person scramble. A BIG thanks to Vicki and the crew for helping make the day so special. It was the largest attendance in several years and the group is pleased to welcome 14 new members this year! (P.S. - it’s never too late to join, see Matt or Trent at the Golf House!) This year after the usual raffle grand prize, won by Sue Koyish, several games were played. Winners were: Guess the Tees - Denise Lacaprucia Chipping Contest - Liz Meigel Putting Contest - Renee Hicks Senior Orphan donations are on October 26 and November 3. Bring your cleaning supplies (senior user-friendly size). Tables for collection will be set up before golf. Call Karen at 207-451-0143 with any questions. The Niners would love to have you join! Another successful LAMGA season is winding down to a close with a number of fun and competitive events planned for November leading up to the Annual Meeting Luncheon December 1 in the Eagle’s Nest at which time the results of the board election will be announced and winners of the Red Hoagland Hyundai Challenge recognized.
