See page 28 for information on a special Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony hosted by Lake Ashton Veterans Association (LAVA) and other ways to support our Military and Veterans. The Annual Summer Concert Series kicks off in May. There are a total of 4 scheduled events between the Clubhouse and HFC. Come to one, come to all! Tickets are $10 for each show. In April, volunteers were recognized for all of their work throughout the year with an event hosted at the Clubhouse. LACDD Supervisors and Staff wish those leaving Lake Ashton for the Summer safe travels. Residents staying at Lake Ashton for the summer should plan to attend the Hurricane Preparation Program with staff from Polk County Fire Rescue providing resources for the severe weather season. This will be part of Monday Coffee June 1 at 9 a.m. in the Clubhouse Ballroom. The Board of Supervisors (BOS) meeting for April was held on April 20, in the Clubhouse Ballroom. Four proposals were received to provide Restaurant and Catering services at Lake Ashton. Supervisors reviewed the proposals and narrowed it down to Dundee Downtown Pizza, 3 Roots, and Tropical Fusion Grill. The remaining 3 proposals will be discussed at the May BOS meeting. Quotes were approved to do geotechnical investigation and other preparatory work on Waterford Drive. Paving of this road will occur in 2026. Stay tuned to electronic media, over the next several months, for more information. The Fiscal Year 2027 (October 1, 2026 - September 30, 2027) was discussed. Two versions will be presented for Supervisors to review, at the May Board of Supervisors meeting (one with an assessment increase of $100 and one with an assessment increase of $200). All residents are encouraged to attend CDD meetings to gain first-hand information and comment on community business, prior to it being voted on.
