LAMGA By David Kubissa The March Member-Guest Tournament is a happy memory, but the LAMGA board already is looking ahead to the 2027 event. Toward that end, the board spent time in April studying a satisfaction survey from this year’s tournament and also honored major sponsors for their support of the event. The survey, answered by 82 percent of the LAMGA members who played, showed across-theboard ratings averaging 4.5 out of 5 on a satisfaction scale. Respondents also provided dozens of valuable comments, including many suggestions for what should go in the gift package for 2027. Much of the tournament’s success relied on sponsors whose support amounted to 36% of the tournament’s budget. In celebration of that support, LAMGA hosted a Platinum Sponsor day and luncheon on April 15 to highlight Platinum sponsors Bates Capital and Huston Cadillac Buick GMC as well as Gold-level sponsor Chris Bruser, reverse mortgage specialist for Mutual of Omaha. Those businesses were among the 74 sponsors whose support was recognized with signs and banners that lined the fairways and Eagle’s Nest during three-day March tournament. Look for those sponsors to be listed throughout the year in this monthly article. LAMGA’s board encourages the use of these services and businesses when Lake Ashton residents are shopping for goods and services. Board transition: At the board’s April meeting, Mark Kennedy was appointed by President Rolly Geyer to fill a board seat vacated by Vice President Larry Wilson, who has resigned after 10 years of dedicated service on the LAMGA board. Monthly sponsor salute: These businesses and services helped sponsor the 2026 Member-Guest: Advanced Screening Solutions; CBD Store, Winter Haven; Dental Arts of Winter Haven; Garage Experts of Lakeland; New Look Lawn Service; Ovation Bistro & Bar; Performance Golf Carts; Posh Salon & Day Spa; WCM Construction; and Weaver Loveless Law. Chris Bruser, reverse mortgage specialist, Mutual of Omaha, and Ryan Bates from the Bates Capital financial planning firm, were honored guests at the April 15 LAMGA game and luncheon. Jeremy Blalock, a Huston Cadillac sales associate, represented the auto dealership at the April 15 LAMGA event honoring its top sponsors. Huston provided raffle prizes and sponsored a $50,000 gift certificate toward a new vehicle for a hole-in-one on No. 2 East during the member guest tournament.
