LA NINERS By Dr. Pamela June Niners Wrap Up an Exciting Winter Season On March 31st the Niners closed out their winter season in tropical style with a festive luncheon filled with camaraderie, laughter, and well earned celebration. Members were recognized for their achievements on the course, with chip-in and birdie pins and a special prize—three golf lessons with Matt—presented to the season’s Most Improved player. Heartfelt thanks were given to outgoing President Sharron Murphy and Secretary Sandy Hockenberry, who each dedicated two years of service to the Board. Their leadership, energy, and commitment were deeply appreciated. The new Board was welcomed by all. Brenda Bowman, who served as Vice President will step into the role of President. Cecily Harmon will continue as Treasurer. And new members to the board include Debbie Shillito, Vice President and Pamela June, Secretary. With this dynamic team, the Niners are truly in good hands. This season wasn’t just about golf; it was about giving back. The Niners showed extraordinary generosity throughout the 2025–26 season, including: • Donating gifts for Christmas that filled an entire SUV and contributing over $800 in gift cards to Snively Elementary to support academic excellence • Sponsoring a hole for the Parkinson’s Tournament ($250) and providing an additional $120 gift basket for the auction 43 As the Niners look ahead to a fun filled summer season, they invite new members to join this fantastic group of women. The Niners play nine holes every Tuesday morning—a perfect opportunity to learn the game, challenge yourself, and enjoy a warm, encouraging, and social environment. Interested golfers can inquire at the Pro Shop. There’s always room for one more on the tee.
