BLANKETS OF LOVE AT LAKE ASHTON (BOLLA) By Diane Dillon LA ROCKERS By MJ Richards The Rockers are hiding lots of rocks and welcoming our new neighbors with a rock at their front doors. The camaraderie within the group when we gather to paint together is great fun. If you have been tempted to learn more about us and give rock painting a try, sign up by emailing MJ at mjmrichards517@gmail.com before May 19 to get details. At your first meeting, you will have an orientation with a “how to” lesson and all your supplies will be provided for this time to see if you like it as much as we do. We wish all of LA Snowbirds a fun-filled summer and look forward to your return! Meanwhile, let the searching for rocks continue to those of you who will be here this summer! SINGLES CLUB By Sil Wells The LA Singles Club gets together every Sunday at 2 BOLLA would like to thank everyone who recently supported our successful Pop-Up Sale in the Clubhouse parking lot. This was a smaller scale compared to the popular Trash to Treasure sale, but most successful. For the many fans of Trash to Treasure, don’t worry; it will return to the Clubhouse Ballroom in March of 2027. In support of BOLLA’s mission, 140 teen sized blankets were recently delivered to Polk County Schools to be distributed to Polk’s Homeless Graduating Seniors. Other recent deliveries included 60 blankets, 40 ponchos and 20 hats to two elementary schools. It has been a busy time! BOLLA continues to meet during the summer months to prepare blankets for the busy fall season at the schools. If anyone has an hour or two to donate to a most worthy cause, BOLLA would love to have some help on Mondays in the Clubhouse Craft Room at 1 pm. No sewing experience is necessary, and new members are always welcome. 33 pm in the Clubhouse Ballroom. If you live in Lake Ashton and are single and looking for good conversation and fun, join the group. There is a business meeting the first Sunday of the month. Following the business meeting and every Sunday, the group plays card games, usually Five Crowns. After cards at 4, some Singles go out dinner at a nearby restaurant. Besides the cards on Sunday, there have been field trips and another trip on April 26 to Bartow, for a Bartow Concert Band show. Once a month the Singles go out for lunch. The Singles Mingle is once a month on the 3rd Thursday, meeting at 4 pm in the Pavilion for snacks and drinks. All Lake Ashton singles - come join an interesting group.
