LA NINERS By Marti Schmidt If you make a holein-one, send your name, date, hole, and course number to be featured in the LA Times to valerie@lakeashtoncdd.com March – in like a lion, out like a lamb… let’s hope the lamb shows up sooner rather than later. This winter season has been a really wet and cold one for playing golf. Get your green wardrobe ready to play on 3/12 in celebration of St Patrick’s Day – and everyone will play from the green tees! Before you know it, April 2nd will be upon us and our Tropical Tuesday Closing Day and Lunch will arrive. I’m happy to report we have volunteers for VP and Secretary as Janet and Marti step down. We’ll let you know who will carry those torches at the luncheon. Still have questions? Ready to join? Contact Denise at denisepops23@aol.com for more info! LALGA By Beverly Hines LALGA members “Got Their Green On” for the Member/Member Golf Tournament held February 12 & 13 with the theme 18 Shades of Green. Congratulations to all the winners and to Lydia Fichtman and Rita Lee and their committee for organizing the 2-day event. From Nancy Zografos, Chair for We Care for Kids, “I truly appreciate all the donations for the project that supplies toiletries and hygiene products for homeless students. We donated six boxes each for the Winter Haven / Lake Wales High Schools. It was greatly appreciated.” Nominations are now open for the positions of LALGA President and Secretary. Those interested in running for one of these offices should contact one of the nominating committee members: Rita Lee, Kathy Reed, Deb Louder, or Sandra Lancaster. Electronic voting will be held March 20th – 26th and those elected will assume their roles on June 1. Lots of fun Tuesday League Play Day games are scheduled for March. Check out the bulletin board in the hallway to the ladies’ restrooms in the Pro Shop where they are posted each month. The Men’s and Women’s Club Championships will be held on March 21 – 22.
