CLUBS In Memoriam August. The meetings will resume in September. However, there will be a meeting on June 14 at 10 am in the Pavilion. All meetings will be the second Wednesday of the month until next January. The plant sale was such a success. It’s time to discuss plans for the use of funds generated by the sale. Input from members old and new would be greatly appreciated. SENIOR BILLIARDS LEAGUE By Wayne Creek Congratulations to these first The Wednesday night card group is donating three books to the Clubhouse library as well as the HFC library. Hoyles Encyclopedia of Card Games, The Essentials of Hand and Foot, and Bridge for Beginners are being donated in memory of Mary Lois Teyssier. Mary Lois was a mainstay of this card group. She was a truly wonderful woman, with a very dry, subtle sense of humor, who loved to play cards. She will be missed. GARDEN CLUB By Lynn Davis The Lake Ashton Garden Club was fortunate to host Gene, the barefoot gardener, at the recent May meeting. Members and guests were taught what is the best potting material and care for different varieties of orchids. Gene provided opportunities for hands-on learning. The biggest lesson given was to not “baby” orchids. The club is fortunate to have Gene available as a tremendous resource. The “good for the order” news was presented. The Garden Club will not hold meetings in July or 28 place winners!
