GOLF LA NINERS By Marti Schmidt We are back playing golf at 9 am! The new officers were announced at the closing luncheon in April. Here is your current Board: Janet Mutz, President; Denise LaCaprucia, Vice President; MaryLou Jameson, Treasurer; and Marti Schmidt, Secretary. If you did not attend Closing Day, see Janet for your closing gifts. We will once again be collecting for Senior Orphans before play on June 6th and 13th. Watch your email for a list of items we will be collecting. TIP: Mark Your Ball: when your ball is on the green, get in the habit of marking it and picking it up. If you and others are on the green and putting, ask the other players to mark their ball/s. If you are on the green putting, and accidentally hit their ball, YOU will get the 2-stroke penalty. Ouch. We look forward to our June 16 sponsored event of Martinis, Mulligans, and Munchies! The event features nine holes of golf plus paired martinis and munchies afterwards in the Eagle's Nest. Any Lake Ashton Golf member may sign up. Due to space at the Nest the event is limited to the first 20 foursomes to sign up. Hopefully, no hurricane will be hovering this year! On July 10 and 11 the LALGA will hold a summer tournament with theme of The Tropics … fitting for July weather at Lake Ashton. Stay tuned for more details. And finally, a big thank you to Mary Lou Wheat and Lydia Fichtman for their past service to the LALGA Board in their roles as Tournament Chair and Publicity Chair respectively. Mary Lou is passing her duties to Jan Baun and a member to fill the duties for Publicity Chair is still sought. Please let a board member know if you are interested.
