LA NINERS By Marti Schmidt May was Veterans Month and Red White and Blue bows were on mailboxes throughout the community to show support and appreciation of Veterans near and far. The second Annual LAVA Armed Forces Day Golf Tournament was May 21 and at time of this writing there were 30 teams signed up to participate. Way to go teams! A big THANK YOU goes out to all the Niners who contributed to the collection fund for Allisha at the Eagle’s Nest. She is more than grateful to see the support as she continues with surgeries and heals from her nasty ankle break. Get well Allisha! Another THANK YOU goes out to all you gals that are driving/riding two to a cart. Being kind to the golf course by limiting the number of carts on the grass always helps. Stay on the cart path (or the rough) and follow the 90-degree rule: use the cart path (or rough) to get close to your ball, then make a 90-degree turn onto the fairway to get to your ball. Please please please remember NOT to drive down the center of the fairways to get to your ball. There will be four games in June, with June 28 being Lunch with Friends. There was a good showing for the Mexican fiesta lunch on May 3, complete with margaritas – Ole! Still have questions? Contact Janet at jan.mutz@gmail.com for more info! LAMGA By Paul Fichtman April was another successful month for LAMGA highlighted by the Cinco de Mayo event on May 4 and Beat the Board on May 11. The Cinco de Mayo event included a Mexican lunch served in the Eagle’s Nest. Thanks to the Pro Shop and Eagle’s Nest staffs for putting on a great event. Out of a total of 10 teams, seven were able to Beat the Board on May 11.         28 This month the following Dentists and Attorneys who generously sponsored the annual Member/ Guest tournament are recognized and thanked: Boyett Family Dentistry, Forni Dental, George W.
